The dandelion’s light, feathery seeds

are carried long distances on the

wind, increasing their chances of

landing in a suitable place for growth.

Donations to the Singapore National

Eye Centre are similarly dispersed,

benefiting many patients by

supporting a wide variety of needs.

The impact of your generosity spreads far and wide, taking root in more ways than you know. Your contributions light up lives not just today,

but also give flight to our vision of a future free from blindness and eye disease.

Thank you.

Our Sincere Appreciation

Giving is the only way to return to the world even a tiny bit of the happiness and beauty that life

has bestowed upon us. As Archbishop Desmond Tutu has aptly put it, “Do your little bit of good

wherever you are. It’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.”

VisionSave has supported my 4-month stay at the

Johns Hopkins University as a Visiting Fulbright Scholar. In conjunction with this prestigious scholarship program, I will be working very closely with the

Ophthalmology and Machine Learning Units to further my understanding

on the utilization and optimization of the artificial intelligence in various

eye diseases, which is in line with Singapore’s vision of

becoming a Smart Nation.

Philanthropic donations established

to promote scientific training of clinicians helped fund me through my PhD. Now as a qualified clinician scientist doing basic science research, my focus is on applying scientific advances towards improvement of patient care. Donations through VisionSave allow us the means to safely develop and translate these scientific advances into novel diagnostic and therapeutic modalities for blinding ocular conditions.
