Each year, AAC members are invited to join us for the Annual Meeting and Appreciation Dinner. Members are up-dated on the financial condition of the credit union and treated to a delicious dinner. It’s the time of year that many resolve to make better financial deci-sions in the New Year. Here’s a few tips to get you started:

Make a spending plan or budget that suits your needs and income. Don’t try to follow others. A budget is a personal system that has to work for YOU.

Include all of your income and expenses. It’s usually easy to deter-mine your income, but getting a grasp of your expenses can be chal-lenging. Grab all of your bills and plan to sit down and review what is really going out.

Pay yourself first by trying to save 10% of your income. If you can’t afford 10%, start with a smaller amount. Treat savings as a monthly bill.

Stick to your plan, but don’t be afraid to alter your program. Never give up. Be determined to get your finances in order and to succeed.
