NICU ward, Buscot, at the RBH in Reading. This is
where Noah spent the first 6 weeks of his life

to give something back to the ward to help future
babies who were born poorly or too soon. He
would be so grateful to anyone who would like to
sponsor him. Many thanks!

Dear All,
It has been another busy week at Evendons. Although lots going on, we
have had many visitors in school this week who have commented on the
calmness within school, which has been a pleasure to hear. It has been
wonderful to see the children outside enjoying the sunshine this week,
building dinosaur dens, playing circle games and riding their bikes. Spring
is finally here!
There have been more trips out this week including trips to Wokingham
Library, Year 4 visited The Living Rainforest in Newbury and yesterday,
Year 5 visited Gilbert White’s house in Selbourne. Year 6 are looking for-
ward to their residential trip to Wales next week, leaving this Sunday and I
am sure that they will have a fantastic time.
In assembly this morning , Charlotte in Year 5, Newton Class, had her hair
cut for the charity Little Princess Trust. She is raising money for a charity
very close to her heart. It was wonderful to see such courage and bravery
in front of the whole school this morning. Well done Charlotte!
We will endeavour to keep you informed of anything that changes with
regards to the current Coronavirus. We appreciate your continued support
through this time.
Wishing you a wonderful and safe weekend.
Best wishes , Lucinda (on behalf of Matt)
Gilbert White’s House—Year 5 Trip
‘On Thursday, Year 5 went to Gilbert White's House and
Field study centre. Gilbert White was a naturalist. Whilst
we were there, we watched birds and we saw some
blackbirds. We also looked under different log piles for
invertebrates. We even got to look at butterflies under
the microscope. We used the quadrats to calculate the
number of plants in a field using averages. Inside his house, we saw his bed
and the kitchen. There was the smell of cinnamon and pheasants were hang-
ing up too. There was also his original book that was written in 1789. By Mil-
lie Hughes (Sharman)
World Water Day-Non-Uniform
On Wednesday 18th March we are celebrating World Water day, we are
going to be thinking about using water responsibly, did you know it takes
10,000 litres of water to make a new pair of jeans? please come into school
wearing blue clothes but please don't buy anything new! If you don't have
any blue clothes could your friends lend you some? We will be raising money
for Water Aid who help to build clean water facilities for children around the
world. We will have a bucket by the front gate and any money that you
would like to donate can be passed onto class teachers too.

Year 2 Tag Rugby Report 3rd March 2020
On Tuesday, our Year 2 Tag Rugby team took part in a School Games Rugby Festival at Reading Rugby Club. The children played extremely well in all their matches; working well as a team to pass, tackle and scoring many tries.
Thank you to Laura for supporting the team and to Jez and Jon for helping with the coaching (and Laura for providing a feast of snacks for the children in between matches to keep their energy levels up!).
Here are some comments from the children: Girls: ‘It was really hard work. You had to try and tackle’ ‘The boys could swap over but the girls had to stay on the pitch’ ‘We each scored a try!’ Boys: ‘Ralph rolled on the floor every time he scored a try.’ ‘We won nearly all the matches!’ ‘We had a feast after every match.’ ‘I scored lots of tries. All of our team did very well.’
If you are interested in joining a friendly Rugby Club, please see the flyer in the attachment (contact Ka-ren@[email protected] RRC Tel: 01189696592):
