PRINCIPALrsquoS MESSAGE
Dear Families
With four weeks to go until we return to onsite learning I hope you are finding ways to look after yourselves and check in with others on RUOK day
Our plans for next term are as follows
Week 1 beginning Monday 5th October Remote learning for all students Supervision of remote learning onsite for the children of Essential Services workers and vulnerable families
Week 2 beginning Monday 12th October Years P-2 students return to onsite learning To be confirmed Years 3-6 return to onsite learning either Monday or Tuesday Remote and flexible learning will no longer be available as all staff will be onsite face-to-face in classrooms
Further eSmart information Following on from last weekrsquos information about eSmart below is some further advice about eSafety
Anyone encountering violent or disturbing content online should report it to the social media platform theyrsquove seen it on or to eSafety at wwwesafetygovaureportillegal-harmful-content
We should avoid drawing undue attention of issues to children as this may cause unnecessary worry or distress and increase exposure
Check in with your children about their interactions on and offline If a young person is presenting with signs of distress please contact your GP or the school who can link you with supports
Five top tips to help limit your childrsquos exposure to harmful content online
Engage in your childrsquos online activities ndash ask what apps sites and games theyrsquore using and make sure theyrsquore age-appropriate
Use parental controls on devices to help limit what your child is exposed to
Let them know not everything they see online is real or true
Help them report and block upsetting content they see on social media sites or apps
Let them know they can come to you about anything upsetting they see online and contact Kids Helpline if they need further support The Bullystopper Parent modules are excellent and I highly recommend all parents looking at them to support your children with this important topic
The following resources provide current information from both the Department of Education amp Training and The Childrenrsquos eSafety Commission gtBullystoppers Parent Interactive Learning Modules (wwweducationvicgovauaboutprogramsbullystoppersPagesparentmodulesaspx)
gtiParent | Office of the Childrens eSafety Commissioner (httpswwwesafetygovaueducation-resourcesiparent)
It is vital that you support your child to ask for help regarding any bullying incidents both online and face-to-face We always follow up reports of bullying Have a great weekend Julie Soutter

Keep Fit and HealthymdashBy Angus and Seth Howey House Captains
Hi GPS students Our names are Angus and Seth and wersquore your Howey House Captains As we
all know ISO can be pretty boring so to mix it up a bit and keep you active and fit during this tough
time we have come up with these easy short activities that you can do whilst in lockdown
gt5 laps around your back yard (more for a small backyard)
gtCreate an obstacle course with a focus on fitness (with adults around)
gtYou can go for a daily walk or bike ride (incorporate hills to get your heart rate up if you can)
gtTry and make your own routine that you can do every day eg 10 star jumps 5 push ups 10 sit
ups 1-minute wall sit etc
These activities can help you build a better immune system and can improve your overall health By
completing these small tasks or making your own it will get you out of the house and give you some
much needed fresh air It also allows your brain a break from all the school work yoursquove been doing
which will allow you to concentrate for longer throughout the day We hope you try some of these
small activities above or even better make up your own
Stay fit and healthy during this tough time
