2016 PSP GOAL $ 175,685.00
Let Us Pray! O Lord, giver of life and source of freedom, I know that all I have received is from your hand. Gracious and loving God, You call us to be stewards of Your abun‐dance, the caretakers of all you have entrusted to us. Help us to always use Your gifts wisely and teach us to share them generously. Send the Holy Spirit to work through us, bringing Your message to those we serve. May our faithful stewardship bear witness to the love of Jesus Christ in our lives. We pray with grateful hearts, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

- Pittsburgh Catholic appreciates the support of Holy Apostles Parish. We want to make sure that all parishioners are receiving weekly home deliv-ery. If you have not been receiving a copy, call the Circulation Department at 412-471-1252, ext. 3571, or e-mail [email protected]? Be sure to include your name and address. Also mention that you are a parishioner at Holy Apostles Parish. Thank you for your interest in the Pittsburgh Catholic, your Catholic community newspaper.
Meet Our Maintenance Crew You might have seen Jeff Jenney and Len Lis
around the parish prop-erties. From general repairs to setting up for parish events, they strive to keep the facilities looking their best.
I learned that they both enjoy the vari-ety of the work and find it anything but boring. With four church buildings, “something always goes wrong” and it’s sometimes a challenge to prioritize. They told me that heating, plumbing and electrical repairs get top priority, depending on the severity of the problem.
Jeff has worked as a restaurant manager, for exter-minating, insurance, and window businesses, for Heinz Field (in guest relations and event supervisor), at St. Syl-vester’s Church, among others. He has been married for 38 years, has four children, and two grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, camping, and Pittsburgh sports.
Len worked as a pipefitter in the U.S. Navy, was an ironworker for ten years (worked on Heinz Field, PNC Park, and the FBI building). He has a degree in nuclear medicine and worked at AGH for ten years. He has been married for 20 years and has two children. In his spare time, he enjoys target shooting at a club in Millvale.
Both Jeff and Len find working for Fr. Steve to be “incredible.” They said he is very understanding and, al-though he sets priorities for them, he gives them the lee-way to do their work. They also enjoy working with the other members of the staff.
Len commented that this is the “best job” he’s ever had. Both men share the same work ethic – to put in an honest day’s work. They said that having the facilities looking good is a reflection on them. The only negative aspect is that there aren’t enough hours in a day to get eve-rything done.
When asked what they consider the greatest ac-complishment in their lives, both replied, “my children.” Holy Apostles Parish is blessed to have these two dedi-cated men keeping our buildings in great shape.
Now that it is Tax Season, we will be preparing year end tax statements for those who wish to have them mailed out. If you would like to have your contribution tax statement sent to you, please call the parish office during regular office hours and we will be happy to accommodate you.
PLEASE NOTE:
Due to the merger of the parishes, you will receive two statements:
One will be dated from 1/1/16 to 8/31/16 from the former parish.
One will be dated from 9/1/16 to 12/31/16
