Objective of SF13

To use recent evidence across a range of disciplines to identify priority research needs and new scientific approaches and facilitate new and stronger partnerships, through which the agricultural community can add most value to the delivery of nutrition and health outcomes

Nutrition workshop 2014 http://ispc.cgiar.org

1. Distinguish between research for nutrition vs food security

2. Agriculture interventions need to be part of public health

3. Consider diets as a whole

4. Agriculture should contribute to diet diversity, quality and food

safety

5. Indicators of progress need to be more proximal than stunting

6. The importance of different household members

7. Explore partnerships with the private sector

8. Agriculture contributes to nutrition, education and social

support programs

9. Qualitative approaches help understand linkages

10. Evaluation methods needed which cross ‘fields’

Key messages from SF13
