A heritagefor future generations.

The Historic Scotland Foundation is a charitable trust which complements the work of Historic Scotland by supporting particular projects and initiatives which might not otherwise be able to go ahead. Recent examples include the creation of the acclaimed ‘Weaving the Unicorn’ tapestries for Stirling Castle and the safeguarding of Trinity House in Leith with its valuable maritime collection. Both these projects also have strong educational outreach elements.

Donations from individuals, companies and other trusts enable the Foundation to help preserve the built heritage and to look to the future through research and the teaching of craft skills. The Foundation welcomes all donations, large or small, whether general or specific to a project or location, and is happy to discuss with donors the use to which the resources will be put.

Legacies are another, and very appropriate, way of enhancing our historic environment and passing it on in good heart to succeeding generations.
