OVERVIEW OF THE FACULTY
The Faculty of Public Relations and Advertising was established to teach and
contribute to existing knowledge in the area of Public Relations, Marketing and
Advertising. Since its inception the faculty has graduated more than a thousand
students at both the diploma and degree levels.
Students associated to the faculty learn how to set out the content of communication
within the specific linguistic and relational settings of old and new media, as well as
in the creative processes of advertising language.
This is to enable them become professionals in corporate communication and
strategy with which a company communicates itself, its products and its aims.
The academic path is planned in such a way as to alternate and balance knowledge
and know-how: an excellent, in-depth theoretical preparation in the relevant
disciplines. It is completed and rounded out with practical activities that enable the
students to check in the field what they have been learning on a theoretical and
critical level.

Examination is the pivotal point around which the whole system of education revolves and the
success or failure of the system of examination is indeed an indicator of the success or failure of
that particular system of education.
Examination malpractice is any illegal act committed by a student single handedly or in
collaboration with others like fellow students, parents, teachers, supervisors, invigilators,
printers and anybody or group of people before, during or after examination in order to obtain
undeserved marks or grades.
Examination malpractices range from leakage of question papers to copying, changing answer
books, impersonation, misconduct in examination halls, approaching invigilators/examiners,
making false entries in attendance registers etc.
EXAMINATION REGULATIONS
Examination offences shall be understood to include any attempt on the part of a candidate to
gain unfair advantage, and breach of the Examination Regulations and Instructions to
candidates, including refusal on the part of a candidate to occupy the assigned place in an
Examination Room, any form of communication with another candidate, possession of a book,
paper or written information of any kind except as required by the rules of a particular
examination, smoking, leaving an Examination Room without permission of the invigilator, or
refusal to follow instructions.
Students should note that while group work and discussions are encouraged, the final product
should be solely theirs. Any student who willingly or unwillingly makes it possible for others to
copy from their work and thereby enables a third party to note the similarities would have such
paper cancelled.
