Daylights Savings Time Ends November 6, 2011

The United States begins Daylight Savings Time (DST) at 2:00 a.m. local time on the second Sunday in March and reverts to Standard time at 2:00 a.m. local time on the first Sunday in November. The term “ fall back” suggests that you must set the clocks back one hour. It is associated with the fall season because the DST schedule ends in the fall.

Remember to turn your clock back on Nov. 6th!

Foul Weather Tips for Your Pets

With cold and inclement weather upon us, let’s make sure our pets are well cared for. When animals are routinely left outdoors, be sure that they have access to fresh running water. Still water freezes quickly, and animals can cut, even freeze burn their tongues by trying to drink out of a bowl of ice. Always pay attention to your pet after they have been romping out in the snow. Sticks, nails, and other dangers can be hidden in the snow, and can injure your pet while at play. Take a little extra time to check and see that they haven’t broken a nail, cut a pad, or otherwise injured themselves. If you notice them licking or bothering an area on their paws, always be sure to check. They can’t talk and rely on you to take good care of them.
