GEOSPACIAL ANALYSIS HIGHLIGHTSThe minor in Geospatial Analysis offered at D&E prepares students to apply the science of geographic information with the applications and technologies of geographic information systems (GIS), cartography and remote sensing to various disciplines. Whether you are curious how self-driving cars work or flying drones to detect forest fires, the minor in geospatial analysis at D&E can help you answersthose questions.

SUCCESS STORYAlyssa Richmond was a student at Davis & Elkins College and graduated in 2017. Alyssa majored in environmental science and minored in geospatial analysis. She also found time to be a campus leader with the Student Veterans Association. Alyssa is using her D&E education to work as the coordinator for the San Juan Watershed Group, in Aztec, NM.

“My time at D&E has prepared me for a successful career more than I ever imagined at the time. The support I received from the favorite professors personally and in the classroom pushed me to test my limits and learn what I’m capable of. The technical skills I gained, such as GIS, plant identification, and federal legislature were invaluable skills for my future goals as a botanist.”
