    The Channel and Tunnel is informally known as the Chunnel.

    It isan underground rail tunnel that runs below the English Channel and connects

    Why London Bridge is falling down sounds so happy?

    It was originally a merry tune about London Bridge in a state of disrepair, so a

    group of merry singing people set out to fix it. So it's a fixing song rather than a

    falling down song, originally.

    Big Ben

    It is the nickname for the great bell of the clock in London and it is a symbol of

    the United Kingdom and London. The clock first ticked on 31 May 1859.

    And people mainly celebrate New Year in the Big Ben, radio and televisionbroadcast its bell to welcome the start of the New Year.

    The nickname of the Bell

    It is the name of the champion boxer called Benjamin Caunt, the name of the

    one who made the Big Ben. It is the name of the one who made the Big Ben.

    It named after the Speaker of the House at the time called Sir Benjamin Hall,

    who oversaw the installation of the Great Bell.

    London EyeIt is a giant 135-metre tall Ferris wheel situated on the banks of the

    River Thames. It is the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe. It is the most popular

    paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom and it is in a great position at the

    heart of London.

    The wheel carries 32 sealed and air-conditioned egg-shaped passenger capsules.

    And one revolution takes about 30 minutes.

    Famous people in England

    William Shakespeare

    He was the greatest writer in the English language.He often called the Englands national poet.

    He had written about 38 plays, 154sonnets, 2 long narrative poems and

    several other poems

    And one of his famous quotations was:

    "To be, or not to be: that is the question." It was from Hamlet.

    Sir Isaac Newton

    He is an physicist, mathematician, astronomer, natural philosopher, alchemist

    and theologian and was known for universal gravitation and the three laws of

    motion. He was inspired to formulate his theory of gravitation by watching the

    fall of an apple from a tree and he was the most influential person in the history

    of science.

    The food in England

    Why do the food in England taste so bland (not very spicy)?

    It is because restaurants in Britain served bland soup, bland roasts, over cooked

    vegetables, etc in the 1950s. Therefore, it is hard to buy simple things like

    peppers, garlic, chilly.

    Famous food in England

    Fish and chips

    It is a popular take-away food that was originated in the United Kingdom in

    1858 or 1863. It consists of deep-fried fish in batter or breadcrumbs with deep-

    fried potatoes.

    Yorkshire Pudding

    It is not usually eaten as a dessert and is a part of the main course. It is made

    from flour, eggs and milk. It is a sort of batter baked in the oven and usually

    moistened with gravy.

    It is enjoyed by over 98% of households in England. Many cheeses are namedafter the place or area they are made in England. There are many types of

    Traditional Drinks in Britain

    Tea

    It is traditionally brewed in a warmed china teapot and most Britons like their

    tea strong and dark, but with a lot of milk.

    Tea breaks

    Tea breaks are when tea and biscuits are served and the traditional time for tea

    breaks are at 11:00 am and 4 pm in the afternoon.

    Sports play an important part in the life in Britain and is a popular leisure

    activity. Many of the worlds famous sports began in Britain including cricket,

    football, lawn tennis, golf and rugby.
