Different Genres

Sophie

Dubstep

• Electronic dance music• I like some elements of Dubstep such the beats

created by different artists. I also like the way the music starts off slower and then more elements to the song are added as it progresses.

• However, I don’t like some Dubstep tracks because many of them sound the same and it can become very repetitive making it slightly boring.

Country Music

• Generally harmonic songs accompanied mainly by string instruments (guitar)

• I like that most of this type of music is quite peaceful and easy to listen to, but some track can be quite upbeat and catchy.

• I dislike that some songs can take a long time to get into the track which can make a listener impatient such as myself.

Rock

• Loud form of music with strong beats.• I like the strong beats of the drums in the

tracks as it keeps a stable rhythm throughout the song which makes it more ‘familiar’

• I dislike that in some songs the beat in the background is to loud so that the singing is difficult and not understandable.

Opera

• Dramatic, theatrical combing text and music.• I like that many of the pieces of opera music

are peaceful and thoughtful. Also I like the overwhelming endings to powerful opera songs.

• I dislike that some opera songs are quite boring and not aimed at my age group.
