HAZOREA’S SHIPPING PROCEDURE• Fish are counted out into special containers that are

placed in cooling tanks.• Each container holds the quantity for one box.• The water in the cooling tanks is cooled by about

2ºF/1ºC. per hour to between 55ºF/12ºC to 60ºF/15ºC, the optimum temperature for transport.

• Just before transport to the airport, fish are emptied into fresh cooled water in a double polyethylene bag in the shipping carton. Salt is added to the water.

• Bags are oxygenated and sealed, as are the boxes.• Land transport is made by refrigerated truck. Fish are

stored in a special refrigerated room while awaiting loading on the aircraft.

• All fish are held locally after import and clearance for a minimum quarantine period of 14 days in a special facility.

• All fish are conditioned & acclimatized during this period. (Treatments carried out if necessary).

• Fish are re-packed for country-wide delivery.
