Greetings Gearheads!

WELCOME TO SUMMERTIME!!Summer landed this past Monday at 5:43pm CST in our part of the world. The longest day of the year has come and gone. Based on the temperatures a lot of the USA has been seeing, you would have thought summer had arrived more than a few weeks back.

The other thing that the summer solstice means and brings with it, is the realization that ½ of 2016 is over. Yep… the first 6 months have flown by. Hope you had plenty of gearhead fun in the first half of the year and if you didn’t (why not??) you have 6 more months to try and make up for what you missed.

We were at the 2016 HOLLEY HOT ROD REUNION last weekend. To say we had a great time, would be an understatement. The event itself is one that if you have never been to, you need to put on your MUST DO list. This year they had over 1500 hot rods, customs muscle cars and more, PLUS close to 800 pre-72 Drag Race cars in attendance. Nostalgia TOP FUEL, NITRO FUNNY CARS, FUEL ALTERED’s, AA/GS racers and a whole lot more make this one so much fun. For us, the best part though is the people. We got to see a lot of long time friends, made some new ones and just enjoyed people next to us in the grandstands (covered grandstands!) that we struck up conversations with, in between races or just looking at all the cool cars.

Really this is what our hobby…passion is all about. The People! Cars are just metal and plastic and chrome, but the soul of each car is the owner(s).

Keep that right pedal....FLOORED!
