TO UNDERSTAND DIFFICULT VOCABULARY AND UNDERSTANDS THE 1800s – the Victorian era. Read old letters, diaries (see ‘Letters of

Note’ blog’) Help your child understand events of

Victorian Britain – look them up together on line.

Read history text books / encyclopaedias; help them point out similarities and differences in texts.

You could: visit museums, National Trust properties etc.KEY FOCUS

MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD HAS A POINT OFVIEW! Discuss world issues –what do they think

about what is going on in the news? Play devil’s advocate with them: what would you say to someone who thinks the opposite.
