Pason Systems Sept. 2011 – Sept. 2015Director responsible for the overall delivery of services on a 7.5M/year account. Key focus areas included continuously improving productivity and quality across multiple teams, ensuring customer satisfaction, resource management for up to 50+ people, and account financials against the annual operating plan. Development languages involved were primarily Java and Python in a Linux environment. Initiatives included:

Implemented a comprehensive employee engagement program which included rewards for improvement suggestions, team celebration lunches, monthly 1-1 meetings with all team members, building a project library of technical books, team training, innovation days and team building days. Another value add was re-platforming an old version of product software allowing the client to market a “lite” version of the client’s flagship product. The result of this project allowed Pason to economically re-enter a market segment that the company had mostly abandoned

Pason Systems March 2009 – Sept. 2011Project Manager/Program Manager on multiple simultaneous projects responsible for developing new product functionality and enhancing existing products in a Java and Linux environment. Managed a multidisciplinary team composed of software developers, testers and technical leads. Accomplishments included:

Project to refresh the look and feel for the client’s flagship software product. Changes included bringing the UI up to modern UI standards, improving workflows and overall user experience, and non-functional architectural changes

Managed several projects to deliver client software products to key international markets. Changes included building customizations requested by the International Business Unit, integrating translated text into the application, and running field trials in target countries

Project to develop software for a new gas chromatograph hardware device. Changes included creation of real time graphs to show amounts of gasses encountered in drilling, analytics to provide drillers with critical indicators, and reporting functionality

Toyota Motor Sales(USA) March 2005 – Feb. 2009Project Manager responsible for 24/7 production support for the Vehicle Sales and Parts Distribution systems. Also responsible for managing maintenance and small enhancements in a mainframe environment. Operations took place using Toyota’s Total Quality Management system, and in a Capability Maturity Model Integration level 5 facility. One operational improvement initiative to improve parallel processing in the nightly batch run resulted in over 1 hour of time saving, allowing Toyota to leave its dealerships open for an extra 30 minutes daily. Client management estimated this had a $12M USD/year positive impact on revenue. Responsibilities included:

During this period server availability was improved from approximately 90% up time to over 99% up time.
