Yard Waste• Place plant trimmings, brush,

leaves and pumpkins in kraftpaper bags, garbage cans or certified compostable bags.NO grass clippings.

• Certified compostable bagsmust have a

logo on them• Cut brush to a length of less

than 1 m (39”) and tie in bundles with string or rope.Limbs must be less than 10 cm (4”) in diameter

• Place fall leaves and yard materials 1.5 m (5’) from regular garbage by 7:00 a.m.on Monday of designatedweek. It may be collected anytime during the week, including Saturdays

Extra Garbage

There are four depot locations where extra garbage (fees apply) and other recyclable materials can be taken. Information about locations and hours can be found at london.ca or by calling 519-661-4570.

There are two collection days per year when the container limit is not enforced. This 4-Container Exemption Collection does not remove restrictions on the types of material that will be collected.

Don’t place small grocery or kitchen bags at the curb. Theywill not be picked up unless placed in garbage cans or bags.

These materials will not be collected: scrap metal (propanetanks, barbeques, bike frames, etc.), construction & renovationmaterials (drywall, wood, etc.), appliances (fridges, stoves,metal microwaves, etc.), electronics (TV's, monitors, computers,etc.), loose garbage, tires and compact fluorescent light bulbsand tubes.

Don’t place garbage at the curbside outside the specified hours.

Don’t put broken glass and sharp metal objects in regulargarbage. Place in sealed and clearly labeled cardboard box forgarbage collectors. This will contain the glass if it breaks atcollection.

Don’t place needles in the garbage. Place in a hard plasticcontainer and contact your local pharmacy or visit healthunit.com or healthsteward.ca for safe disposal information.

Put your garbage at the curb by 7 a.m.,but not earlier than 6 p.m. the nightbefore.

Use plastic garbage bags or metal or plasticcans (minimum 30 L, maximum 125 L).

Maximum weight for bags or cans is 20 kg (44 lbs).

Yes, we do take large items like couches, mattresses, furniture, and carpet cut & tied in 1 m (39”) length bundles. Remove mattresses fromhideaway beds, and tie springs down. Removetank from two piece toilets and empty water.

Dog feces and cat litter must be double-bagged,free of liquids and placed inside a larger bag.

Bagged garbage is accepted at Depots for a fee.
