जय देव जय देव जय मगंल मरू्ते दीपार्तीं अगंीकुरू पूजा समुहूुरे्त

Glory be to the lord, the harbinger of all that is auspicious.

Please accept this offering of light as part of our worship.

ववघ्नधवांर्त ववनाशन सपु्रभ मखु कमल ंददव्य ज्ञानानंददर्तमेकामल रदनं ।

मोदकमोदं देवं जयमगंलवदनं वांछिर्त फलदं वंदे स्र्तंबेरमवदनं ।। १ ।।

You destroy known and unknown evils, o radiant faced,

You find joy in celestial knowledge, you even sacrificed a

tooth,

You like the ‘modak’, o auspicious faced,

Please fulfill my wishes, o elephant faced.

भ्रमदलल कंुभशंुण्डा स्र्तंलभर्त मद दंभ ंलसदंरूारुणशोभ ंकु्रर्तररपुसकं्षोभ ं।शंकरवंशस्र्तंभ ंछनर्जिर्त मद दंभ ं

व्यावपर्तसकलारंभ ंवंदे ब्रह्मछनभ ं।। २ ।।

You restrain toxicity and deceit with your agile trunk,

The vermillion graces you as you defeat the enemy,

O pillar of Shiva’s dynasty, you conquer the evils,

You encompass all beginnings, I salute you.

वनृ्दारक वनृ्देरवप वंददर्तपदकमल ंकमलज कमलाधव वर्णिर्तगणुममल ं।

ववद्यामडंडर्त देहं पर्ण्डर्तकुलपाल ंशेषस््वामहमीड ेसर्तर्तं खलकाल ं।। ३ ।।

Lord Krishna, and Tulasi, pay their respects at your feet,

Goddess Laxmi and Lord Vishnu detail your pure qualities,

Your manifestation is decorated with knowledge, you are

the protector of learned men,

You are all of the above and then all that is beyond, we pray

to you throughout difficult times.
