1 Introduction

G-602 is a dual channel professional curved screen edge blending processor. It was designed for

sophisticated edge blending as well as image warping, stacking, projection mapping, irregular video

wall and passive 3D…etc.

5 inputs and 2x HDMI outputs are integrated in G-602. Input ports support up to 2560x1600 /

3840x1080 @60Hz and 4k UHD @30Hz resolution with 4:4:4 full color sampling. It is integrated with

10-bit high end processor with motion adaptive de-interlace, 3:2/2:2 pull-down, low angle smooth

algorithm and supports non-VESA standard input timing

Advanced warp technology is embedded in G-602. User can use front panel keypads, IR controller

and PC tool to perform edge blending and sophisticated geometry alignment up to 17x17 grids.

Independent color (white balance) adjustment for each projector, overlapped area color correction

and non-overlapped area black level uplift are also standard functions in G-602. Users can see real

time geometry and color adjustment and get optimized result.

HDMI loop out supports daisy chain connection up to 3840x1080 @60Hz or 4k/2k @30Hz and

allows large display with multiple G-602 cascaded. Video wall function in G-602 is to crop and allocate

source image for each projector. Complete curved edge blending can be achieved without PC, video

distributor and splitter.

If PC tool is used for sophisticated geometry alignment, user can save the final result into G-602

and no more PC is required. It will provide a flexible and reliable system. With G-602, users can replace

high end projector with low cost projector without lens shift, warp and edge blending. It provides easy

configuration, lower system cost, reliable and flexible solution.

3 Helpful Tips for system installation and setup

a. Select digital input to get better image and avoid image position shift.

b. If 4k signal connection distance is more than 10m, please select a certified HDMI cable to avoid

unstable signal connection. Usually [High Speed HDMI + Ethernet] cable will be better.

c. The quality for signal adapter or converter, such as HDMI to DVI adapter and DisplayPort to HDMI

converter, may downgrade the signal quality and cause issue. Please select qualified ones.

d. If user can see blue background image with [Power Saving Mode] message, it means the signal

connection between projector and GeoBox is OK but no input signal detected by GeoBox. Please

check signal source or replace a different input source to test.

e. If user can’t see [Power Saving Mode] message or splash screen, please check the connection

between GeoBox and projector. User can connect to a monitor to check the output from GeoBox.

[Loop out] port is for raw signal daisy chain connection and is not an output to projector.

f. The output resolution setting shall be the same as projector native resolution to get the best video

quality. After geometry alignment, this output resolution can’t be changed. Otherwise, geometry

position will be shifted and required further adjustment.

g. In the application with short throw ratio projector on curved screen, it is possible that the image

location is beyond the maximum adjustment range in manual adjustment. In this case, Gwarp PC

tool is required to double the adjustment range.

h. During installation setup process, please apply FHD signal to the system for easy setup. After

finish the setup, user can select optimized EDID from OSD menu to get optimized video quality.

i. The optimized EDID resolution should be the final resolution after edge blending. For instance, if

user uses three XGA projectors for edge blending with 250 overlapped pixels, then the best signal

for this setup will be 1024*3-250*2=2572. It means 2572*768 will be the best signal resolution for

this setup. User can customize EDID with this resolution in GeoBox. Some PC may not be able to

output the same custom resolution. In this case, user needs to set PC output resolution as close

this timing as possible. GeoBox can support none-VESA standard input timings.

j. In addition to the resolution settings, user needs to provide content with the same aspect ratio as

screen to ensure no distortion on the screen.

k. To reset all projectors before edge blending to get the same settings in all projectors.

l. To turn off auto keystone function to avoid image shift.

m. In order to avoid interference among multiple GeoBox during the installation, user can set ID

number for each GeoBox through [Options] Menu. Press number keys in Remote Controller for

the control of multiple GeoBox:

850: simultaneous control for all GeoBox

851: control GeoBox ID No. 1

853: control GeoBox ID No. 3

User will see flashing LED on front panel after press 85x number keys. It means the OSD

menu in GeoBox with flash LED is locked and will not be controlled by remote controller.

n. OSD Lock / Unlock: When continuously press [OKD Lock] key on Front Panel or [Menu] key in IR

Remote Control for 5 seconds, the OSD function will be locked to prevent from setting change by

Page 6: G-602 Quick User Guidevnstw.com/otherfile/10/file197-1-20180723162145-96.pdf · 1 Introduction G-602 is a dual channel professional curved screen edge blending processor. It was designed

negligence. To press [OSD Lock] key or [MENU] key for 5 seconds again, it will unlock OSD and

user can manipulate the OSD again.

o. [Image Setup] menu will not be activated if the input source is not from VGA.

p. Please reset GeoBox before any new application to avoid unexpected settings in the system. If

deeper reset is required, user can turn on GeoBox and press both [Menu] + [Pattern] key on front

panel and power on GeoBox again for 5 seconds. It will reset the system

q. To set [Menu Time Out] to “0”, the OSD will appear till the OSD Menu has been turned off

manually or system input timing change.

r. Default Internal Grid Pattern represents 32x32 pixels no matter which input resolution is selected.

s. Only HDMI-A input port can provide HDMI raw signal loop out for daisy chain connection. This

loop out signal has no any processing.

t. When [Gwarp] PC tool is used, user needs to save the setting into GeoBox through the OSD

menu: [Anyplace] [Gwarp Pro] select [UserMap 1-10] to save the settings. Then PC can be

removed.

u. When Power Off/ON GeoBox, it will maintain the final settings.

v. User needs to save the final setting into [Profile] under [Options] menu for long tern stored inside

the system. Even the system is reset, the [Profile] settings will be kept without change.

w. Continuously press PATTERN button, internal test pattern will show different colors for easy

installation: White—Red—Green—Blue—Blank. When in “Blank”, user can see OSD and the

image from signal source. In this case, PC test pattern can be applied.

x. Please use INFO hot key on front panel or remote controller to check the input and output timing.

The indicators on the front panel will show the input/output connection status.

y. User can set black background while no input signal is detected and input timing change under

[Options] [Accessibility] menu.

z. Below hotkeys are available in remote controller:

[Warp] geometry alignment, [Video wall], [Edge Blend], [Info], [CH A/B] switching.

4 Edge blending procedures

4.1 Determine source signal resolution and number of projector

a、 The image size and watching distance are two major factors to determine source signal

resolution and number of the projectors.

b、 If the screen size is 20m and the watching distance is 5m, the signal pixel pitch should be

around 5mm, then the system resolution is about 20m/5mm=4000. It means the system

resolution should be around 4000 pixels in width and the vertical resolution should follow the

projector native resolution. If 1080p projector is used, the system resolution should be

3840x1080 or 4096x1080 if signal source can support this output timing.

c、 After determine the system resolution, please make sure all the equipment in the signal pipe

line should be able to support this resolution or higher. It includes signal source output, edge

blending processor and the total resolution of the projectors after edge blending.

d、 If user uses 8x XGA projector with 250 overlap pixels, the total projector resolution after edge

blending will be 1024*8-250*7=6442 pixels. It means it is enough to use XGA resolution

projectors in this case. If user uses FHD or WUXGA high end projectors with watching distance

at 5m, the final video quality will be very similar if signal source is only 4k resolution.

e、 VNS can provide service free of charges to help customers in making project plan, including

system configuration, type of projector, signal source and installation data.

4.2 System connection

a、 HDMI Loop Out port is for daisy chain connection. It is not an input port.

b、 Only the input signal from HDMI-A input port can be looped out.

Page 8: G-602 Quick User Guidevnstw.com/otherfile/10/file197-1-20180723162145-96.pdf · 1 Introduction G-602 is a dual channel professional curved screen edge blending processor. It was designed

G-602

7

c、 Two outputs from G-602 will come from the same signal source. It is not for 2 independent

displays.

d、 User needs to use Micro USB cable for PC & G-602 connection if Gwarp PC Tool is used. User

can extend USB control distance through USB extension cable.

e、 IF GeoBox is installed in control room, please extend IR receiver to a place for easy remote

controller access. User can use audio cable as extension cable.

f、 User can execute G-602 OSD operation through Ethernet connection. Virtual keys in WebGui

are available. Ethernet module is option. Need to be installed in factory.

g、 Select input port and set GeoBox output resolution to be same as projector native resolution.

h、 User needs to apply a signal source while video wall [Overlap] value setting. Signal source

resolution should be the same as Excel calculation. To apply 1080p signal is recommended.

After system setup, user can use any input resolution.

i、 Press [INFO] hotkey to check if the final in/out timings are the same as expected.

4.3 Excel Spread sheet calculation

a、 User needs to get below data for edge blending plan: (3x projectors as Example)

Input signal resolution: (3840*800)

Number of projector.(3 projectors)

Projector resolution and lumens. (1280*800, 3200 Lum)

Required image size (screen size: 6.5m*1.5m)

Overlap pixels and dimension. (8 grids=8*32= 256 pixels)

Projector throw ratio: 1.2-1.7

b、 The above is the calculation result. Please contact dealer or factory to get necessary

assistance for these data.

Final image size for each projector: 2.500m*1.563m

User can use geometry alignment to draw the vertical height to the dimensions you need.

In this example, the final image height is 1.5m after geometry alignment.

Based on these data, user can make a layout plan and decide the

installation dimensions and locations.

Page 9: G-602 Quick User Guidevnstw.com/otherfile/10/file197-1-20180723162145-96.pdf · 1 Introduction G-602 is a dual channel professional curved screen edge blending processor. It was designed

G-602

8

Optimized content resolution: 3328*800 (This is the ideal resolution to set EDID)

Installation distance: 3m-4.25m

It is calculated from throw ratio and image wide for each projector. (2.5m*1.2=3m,

2.5m*1.7=4.25m)

The overlap value in video wall setting:

Projector LH: select RH edge: +197

Projector (Center): LH edge=+98, RH edge=+99 (total 197)

Projector RH: LH edge: +197

After finish setting, user can check the image, if some overlap area is still blurred,

please increase or decrease Overlap Value with 1-2 steps and select optimized one.

The final luminance is 819 Lux. It will be enough for inside room environment.

c、 It is allowed to have different overlap pixel among all projectors. “Irregular” Spread Sheet” is

required to calculate the result.

4.4 Mark image location

After Excel Spread Sheet calculation, user can understand the final image position for each projector.

Please mark image position by paper adhesive tape on the screen. The positions should include 4

corners of the image for each projector and horizontal center line of the screen. Please select a tape

that will not damage the screen. Laser leveler is an ideal tool for marking center line, horizontal and

vertical image positions.

4.5 Set overlapped region size

a、 During Excel Spread Sheet calculation, user has some flexibility to determine the overlap

region size by different projector resolution, lumens and number of projector.

a、 Please reserve at least 214 overlapped pixels for XGA projector and 352 pixels for

1080P/WUXGA projector or 40cm-100cm overlapped region (it will also depend on screen size

and Excel calculation). GeoBox maximum edge blend region is 1000 pixels. If it is over 1000

pixels, user can change the projector installation location, lens shift adjustment, projector

display aspect ratio or reduce overlap region by geometry alignment.

b、 [9x5 Curved] will cut the horizontal image into 8 sections and the image in each section can be

independently adjusted. In different output resolutions, there will be different pixel number in

each section: XGA: 1024/8=128, WXGA: 1280/8=160, 1080p: 1920/8=240. Usually, [9x5

Curved] alignment is enough for most of the curved screen edge blending.

c、 If the overlapped area between two adjacent projectors has the same or multiple number as

above, the geometry alignment in overlap region will have less flexibility. User can increase or

decrease one or two grids (32 or 64 pixels) in overlap area to increase the flexibility for

accurate alignment between adjacent projectors.

d、 Below figure is an example for [9x5 Curved] alignment in 1024 resolution:

25% overlap region:

The adjusting points in projector A & B will be at the same position in overlap region

Page 10: G-602 Quick User Guidevnstw.com/otherfile/10/file197-1-20180723162145-96.pdf · 1 Introduction G-602 is a dual channel professional curved screen edge blending processor. It was designed

G-602

9

If the overlap is 256 pixels (25%) in XGA resolution, total adjusting points in overlap region are

15. The adjusting points in projector A & B will be at the same position in overlap region. User

will have less adjustment flexibility. If increasing two grids (64 pixels) to 320 overlap pixels, user

can have 30 adjusting points to get more accurate geometry alignment. It can align the images

from two projectors on curved screen with good quality without Gwarp PC Tool.

37.5% overlap region

The adjusting points in projector A & B will be separated in overlap region and increase

geometry alignment accuracy.

Recommended overlap pixels in different output resolution

Below is the list for the accuracy of geometry adjustment in different overlap pixels:

GeoBox output resolution 1920*1080 1280*800 1024*768

Min. adjusting flexibility 240/480/720 320/480/640 256/384/512

Max. adjusting flexibility 352/608/832 224/256/384/416/544/576 192/320/448/576

a、 Reset projector to default setting.

b、 Disable dynamic color adjustment and DLP Brilliant color adjustment.

c、 To disable “Auto Alignment” function if user wants to use VGA analog input signal to avoid

image shift during projector switching ON/OFF process.

d、 Disable Auto Keystone function.

e、 Select a Display Mode with 2.2 gamma curve will reduce the color difference in overlap area.

User needs to test with different Display Mode setting based at final color fine-tune stage.

f、 Use projector internal color adjusting function to adjustment the color variation among

projectors before implement edge blending.

g、 Install projectors at a place with image size that just can cover required image area and with

minimize keystone to get better video quality.

4.7 GeoBox Settings

a、 Reset GeoBox to default setting.

b、 Select input port.

c、 Select output resolution to be the same as projector native display resolution.

d、 Check input/output LED indicators to make sure to have correction system connection.

4.8 Geometry alignment by OSD menu (use [4 CORN] & [WARP] hotkey)

a、 Please be familiar with OSD operation from front panel and remote controller, including

activate grid pattern, channel A/B switching and shortcut keys for [2x2], [Warp], [Video Wall],

[Edge Blend] and [Info].

b、 [OSD Time Out] is default to ”0”. It will ensure the grid pattern will not be turned off

automatically. Input mode change will disable OSD and grid pattern.

c、 User can install IR extender receiver near each projector for easy GeoBox operation. If multiple

units of GeoBox are used and IR receivers are put together, please set [Box ID] for each G-602

so that user can control each G-602 separately through [85x] command. Press number keys in

Remote Controller following OSD menu for the control of multiple GeoBox:

850: simultaneous control for all GeoBox

851: control GeoBox ID No. 1

853: control GeoBox ID No. 3

G-602

11

d、 Use [Pattern] & [CH A/B] hot key to show grid patterns in all projectors. Press [Pattern] key

again will change grid color. To set two different pattern colors in adjacent projectors will be

more convenient during geometry alignment.

e、 Please follow the sequence [2x2] [3x3] [5x3] [9x5] to do geometry alignment to ensure

entire image will have uniform scaling factor.

f、 Apply [2X2 Corner] geometry alignment and draw the corners to expected locations. It doesn’t

matter to have some image inside the screen once it covers entire screen before 4 corner

adjustment. [Warp] alignment will adjust the image position back to the required position.

g、 Apply [3x3 Curved] geometry alignment to let 9 adjusting points be located at the required

position including four corners, edge center points and center line position.

h、 Please use [5X3] & [9x5] for further geometry alignment and fine-tune. After finish the

alignment, user can use [2x2] for complete image position fine tune. If user executes [3x3]

alignment again after [9x5] alignment, [9x5] grid position will be reset and only keep [3x3] grid

point information.

i、 In ideal condition, all grids in edge blending area between two adjacent projectors should be

aligned together. In some special case, the vertical lines in edge blending area have some gap

and can’t match 100%. User can adjust [Overlap] value in video wall settings to compensate

this deviation and keep reasonable image quality.

j、 After the above processes, if the grid pattern in edge blending area still can’t stack together,

user can re-align overlap pixels to get more accurate geometry alignment result (see Sect. 4.5)

or use [Gwarp] PC tool to apply 17x17 grid point adjustment.

k、 Geometry alignment range from remote controller can be up to 300 pixels in [2x2] + 300 pixels

more in [3x3] for one corner/edge. If more geometry alignment range is required, please use

Gwarp PC tool to do geometry alignment. PC tool will double the alignment range.

l、 If user finds the grid size between adjacent projectors is different. It means the projection

image sizes between two projectors are different. Please measure the difference and try to

make them have the same dimensions.

4.9 [Video Wall] settings (use [V.WALL] hotkey)

After geometry alignment, it is required to capture image for each projector.

Page 13: G-602 Quick User Guidevnstw.com/otherfile/10/file197-1-20180723162145-96.pdf · 1 Introduction G-602 is a dual channel professional curved screen edge blending processor. It was designed

a、 Click [INFO] to check if correct input and output timing modes are set in the system. If no input

signal is connected, the system will assume the input signal is the same as output signal during

Overlap value setting. User needs to apply this input/output timing for Overlap Value calculation.

b、 [Video wall] settings for three projector horizontal edge blending as example

[Zoom]: all GeoBox set to H=3, V=1

[Pan]: LH projector (1st): H=1, Center projector (2

nd): H=2, RH projector (3

rd): H=3

[Overlap]: select the right edge and apply the value calculated from Excel file

LH projector: RH edge, Center projector: both RH/LH edges, RH projector: LH edge

For dual projector edge blending, user can use below equation to calculate overlap pixel.

Assumption: Input signal:1080p, Output to projector: XGA, Overlap 224 pixels (7 grids)

Overlap value= (1920/2)/(1024-224/2)x(224/2)=118 pixels.

User can also adjust [Overlap] value simultaneously and see the image in edge blending

area comes closer till without double image. Two projectors shall have the same value. The

difference shall not be over 2 pixels.

c、 If user still sees some blurred image in edge blending area, please increase or decrease

[Overlap] value in [Video Wall] setting to improve video quality. If the adjusting value is more than

“1”, please divide this value for adjacent projectors. For example, if the value should be “2” in

center projector LH edge, then please add “1” in RH edge of the 1st projector and “1” in 2nd

projector LH edge.

4.10 [Edge Blend] setting (use [E.BLEND] hotkey)

a、 Select correct Edge for the edge blending:

LH projector: RH edge, Center projector: RH & LH edge, RH projector: LH edge

b、 RED and GREEN color indicating lines will appear when increase edge blending pixels.

c、 User needs to adjust the color indicating lines to match together (green to green, red to red) and

will see the final result.

4.11 Overlap region gamma correction (under [Edge Blend] menu)

a、 Please activate [Gamma] sub-menu under [Edge Blend], select [Transition] and change the

[Gamma] value to get the optimized video quality.

b、 [Gain] menu next to [Gamma] can do further gamma curve change in each projector. It is to do

further edge blending area color fine-tune. User will see significant improvement when each

projector has different gamma curve.

Page 14: G-602 Quick User Guidevnstw.com/otherfile/10/file197-1-20180723162145-96.pdf · 1 Introduction G-602 is a dual channel professional curved screen edge blending processor. It was designed

G-602

13

c、 If there is still some color difference, please try to change projector Display Mode first. If it is still

can’t fix the issue, user can do further color adjustment in projectors or use [Color] sub-menu

under [Edge Blend] menu to adjust individual projector color.

4.12 Black level uplift ( [Offset] adjustment under [Edge Blend] menu)

a、 If the ambient light is dark, audience will see grey region in Edge Blending area. It is due to light

leakage from projector optical system. Low contrast ratio projector will be more serious. Please

apply [Offset] menu to uplift the color in non-transition area and [Corner] menu to do accurate

position alignment.

b、 Under [Offset] menu, user can try [Gain] and [Offset] color compensation to let non-transition and

edge blending area to have the same color as overlapped area. After this step, user will see grey

bars near the borders of edge blending area. User can use [Corner] to eliminate these grey bars.

4.13 Final Image quality fine-tuning

a、 The final performance will be a combination of many factors—projector characteristics, projector

setting, screen, ambient light and GeoBox setting.

b、 Banding in overlap area under dark environment is caused by light leakage in the projector optic

system. It is not possible to be fixed by signal manipulation. The only way is to raise the black

level in none transition area through [Offset] menu.

c、 GeoBox edge blending default setting is for projector with 2.2 gamma settings. To select

projector display mode near 2.2 gamma setting will get the best result.

d、 The projector may retain light leakage near the border of the imager (micro display—DMD or

LCD). It is not possible to be fixed.

e、 The factors affect final image quality

i. GeoBox settings:

Edge Blending settings: Gamma, gain, Offset, Color

Image Properties: To select Preset Mode to Neutral, sRGB or Bluish

Individual projector color adjustment [Color] function under [Edge Blend] menu.

ii. Projector:

To adjust image position of the projector and reduce keystone angle.

Increase Overlap region & reduce off axis angle

To change Display Mode, usually Standard, sRGB/Neutral will get better result.

To disable projector Brilliant color adjustment or Dynamic color adjustment.

Try different color settings in the projectors.

14

iii. Screen: To use lower gain value screen.

Short throw projectors with high gain screen will have color difference in different viewing

angle and cause different overlap area banding from difference viewing angles.

4.14 System power ON/OFF setting

a、 User can access [Options] [Accessibility] [Standby Time] to do automatic System Power

ON/OFF setting by the control of signal source.

b、 If the time is set to “60”, GeoBox will automatically turn off output signals when no input signal is

detected for 60 seconds.

c、 If the projector can also automatically shut down when no input signal is detected. User can

control signal source to turn ON/OFF the system.

d、 If the time is set to [Off], user needs to do manual Power ON/OFF in the system as default.

4.15 Enable [Black Screen] while no input signal or mode change

a、 The default screen color when no input signal is detected or during input timing change is Blue.

b、 User can set it into Black color by below OSD operations: [Options] [Accessibility] [Black

Screen] [Enable].

4.16 Save all settings into [Profile] [Index]

a、 Activate [Options] [Settings] [Profile] [Save] to save the final settings. User can save up to

5 different display profiles. [Profile] menu will save/load two channel settings at the same time.

b、 After finish all the procedures, please power off and power on the system again to check if the

result is the same as expected without change. If any position shift is found, please check if

Gwarp value had been properly download into GeoBox.

c、 EDID settings in different input port will be also saved into [Profile]

4.17 Thermal drift in projector image position

Projector will have some image position shift in different working temperature. Image position will be

not stable at the first 15-30 minutes after power on. During this period, user many see some image

position shift in overlap area. This is called thermal drift. Different projectors may have different

phenomenon. The range for image thermal drift may be up to 5mm.

4.18 PC output resolution setting

If PC is used as signal source for Microsoft Office, please select the right output resolution. Too high

output resolution may cause blurred image in text. 1280x800 or 1366x768 output resolution is good

for two projector edge blending system.

4.19 Possible issue in Edge blending with VGA signal

a、 If PC VGA is used as signal source, please connect this PC during setup stage. In this case,

GeoBox will automatically execute position auto-alignment while 1st time connection and

Page 16: G-602 Quick User Guidevnstw.com/otherfile/10/file197-1-20180723162145-96.pdf · 1 Introduction G-602 is a dual channel professional curved screen edge blending processor. It was designed

G-602

15

maintain the same without adjustment until new PC is connected or new PC timing is applied to

GeoBox. After edge blending setup, please use the same signal source to avoid position shift.

b、 If the projector is connected through VGA, user needs to use HDMI to VGA converter. Projector

will execute automatic image position alignment. The 1st automatic position alignment will be

executed before GeoBox implement geometry alignment. After user finishes system setup, the

image for projector will be changed. Once power on GeoBox or projector again, projector may

execute position auto-alignment again and cause edge blending issue.

c、 Please disable projector VGA input automatic alignment function to avoid image shift.

d、 If possible, please apply digital signals for both input and output in GeoBox.

Page 20: G-602 Quick User Guidevnstw.com/otherfile/10/file197-1-20180723162145-96.pdf · 1 Introduction G-602 is a dual channel professional curved screen edge blending processor. It was designed

G-602

19

d、 Some PC may not follow EDID from GeoBox and show different result. If it happens, please open

resolution setting window and select desired output from PC.

e、 User can also set non-VESA standard output timings from PC, GeoBox can accept this kind of

output timing under the conditions that the maximum clock rate shall be under 330MHz and the

resolution shall not exceed 3840x2400.

8 System bandwidth and system crash

Due to hardware bandwidth limitation, it is possible to see some abnormal image during some settings. It is

due to processing bandwidth limitation. It may happen in below conditions:

1. High resolution input source like 3840x2160 with different video wall ZOOM and Overlap settings.

2. When implement extreme geometry alignment.

3. When implement active 3D 120Hz input/output.

4. We suggest to select the image vertical resolution same as projector. If user uses 1280x800

projectors, then 3840x800 or 3840x1080 signal resolution should be selected to avoid the above

bandwidth issue.

5. Once it happens, please reset the system and select different settings. Once it normally displays, no

side effect will happen again.

9 Screen Selection

a. Gain value less than 1.5 will be recommended for Edge Blending application. Higher gain value

will be more sensitive to color difference among projectors. In short throw projector edge blending,

viewer may see different edge blending result while viewing at different angles.

b. Motorized screen position may be shifted from time to time. It will affect the image stacking in edge

blending area and may cause blurred image. Fixed screen is recommended.

c. If ultra-short throw ratio projector is used, the screen gain value should be under 1.00. The flatness

of the screen will be also more important in this kind of projector.

10 Projector Selection and settings

a. The projectors for the edge blending should be the same model and the same production lot. If

they are not the same models, it may create some difficulty and performance issue.

b. Usually, higher contrast ratio in the projector will have better black level performance. The

projector with contrast ratio more than 3000:1 is recommended for edge blending. In a dark

custom

Page 21: G-602 Quick User Guidevnstw.com/otherfile/10/file197-1-20180723162145-96.pdf · 1 Introduction G-602 is a dual channel professional curved screen edge blending processor. It was designed

G-602

20

environment, video projector with 10,000:1 contrast ration or higher will be better. This contrast

ratio should be native contrast ratio but not dynamic contrast ratio.

c. If possible, please shut down Brilliant color and Dynamic auto color adjustments. They may affect

edge blending result.

d. All the projectors shall have the same setting—including optical zoom ratio, color temperature,

color characteristics, lamp setting, display mode...etc.

e. Please select a display mode with the best performance. Usually, Standard or Native display mode

will provide easier color fine tune.

f. Please select gamma 2.2 for edge blending. Different gamma settings and affect the video quality

in overlap region.

g. The mechanical stability in optical system is important. It should be rigid with less thermal drift.

h. A projector with big ZOOM and lens shift will be more convenient for the installation.

i. Throw ratio will affect installation distance, Please select right one based on the installation space.

j. If ultra-short throw projector is used in curved screen, it will cause big image position shift and may

also cause focus issue. Carpentry screen and curved screen are not recommended.
