I feel children are born with an innate ability to heal the soul of people around them. Their merepresence makes life less complicated and helps us appreciate the simple things that would gounnoticed if we did not take the time or the effort to see life through their eyes. Children are trulyinnocent beings who give so much of themselves without even knowing that they have the power tolight up lives!

Children’s Day

Our little ones fill our lives with happiness and laughter and so it is important to let them know howmuch their lovely gestures mean to us. We celebrated Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru’s birthday which iscelebrated as Children’s Day by arranging for fun activities for them. The children enjoyedthemselves on the big Mickey Mouse bouncy castle, munched on popcorn, played musical chairsand created beautiful pieces of art. Melodious music mixed with laughter and giggles resonatedthrough the whole school and at the end of the day we felt fortunate to be able to bring joy andlaughter into their lives!

Sports Day

Our annual sports day gave children and parents an opportunity to bond and form life-longconnections. Conducted at the Don Bosco Youth Centre, children got a large area to play on andenjoy themselves. Relay and bouncy ball races, skill based activities along with drills and zumba;children from pre-nursery right up to Prep 2 participated enthusiastically in all the fun. Parents alsoparticipated in the three-legged and balancing the ball race displaying good sportsmanship andserving as role models for their children.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was celebrated at our centre on the 23 rd of November. The entrance to the school wasdecorated with quotes about being thankful and a beautiful feast comprising of fruits, vegetables andother goodies adorned the table. A parent, Ms. Christina spoke to the learners about the significanceof this celebration and our teachers also performed a short skit that further reinforced the importanceof being grateful for whatever we have.

Excursion to Trinity Motors

A ride in the school bus followed by a visit to an interesting destination is always a hit with littlechildren. This month our Prep 1 learners visited Trinity Motors to learn more about Transportation,which is the Unit that they are now inquiring about. Once there they were provided with anopportunity to view videos about the latest technology, sit in the beautiful Merecedes vehicles andinteract with the people there so that they could understand their unit better. The children had goodfun and came back with goody bags; an informative trip that helped them understand a certain genreof transport.
