Residential Trips

Sporting Excellence Scholarships

Every year all of our sports students are part ofan exciting residential trip that allows them toexperience something different from their everydaycollege timetable as well as completing assessmentsfrom their study programme.

The residential is extremely popular with students. Activities on theresidential trips include canoeing, abseiling, mountain climbing, team challenges, orienteering and many more. The residentialdevelops students’ leadership and communication skills. On the residential, students are provided with all their meals and activities. Students who have completed the residential commented on how “the trip brought the group together” and helped them “make loads of new friends”.

On completion of the residential students design, organise and run a project within the local community as part of the National Citizen Service.

At Blackburn College we want to motivate students who are dedicated, show willing, and work hard at college. As a reward, we are offering the chance to apply for a £1,200 a year scholarship.

The Sporting Excellence Scholarship is for those dedicated to a sport and who represent the district or even their country. This scholarship is to enable you to travel to games and competitions, and to buy quality equipment that you will need.
