INTRODUCTION

The inspiration for Spacelocker.com is the first high school locker. Do you remember your first school locker?

For many of us, the school locker was our first personal domain outside of our bedroom. It was a place of self expression, a place to keep our own personal things, a place to meet friends, a place to show friendship. The school locker is a young persons right of passage; it gives the first experience of ownership: a place in this world.

Spacelocker.com recreates this experience and nostalgia in cyberspace. Spacelocker.com is a place to personalize, a single place to keep online stuff. Similar to the first place young people go when they go to school, their lockers, Spacelocker.com is the first place a person goes to when they go to the internet. Although Spacelocker.com is new, its really something thats been with us ever since we first started school; and it brings back many positive memories of this experience

Spacelocker.com is fun, functional, and freethe happiest space on Earth. Its built to be one place for internet users to keep all their online activities --- a super homepage. Therefore these principals guide the design and functionality of the site.

SOCIAL ORGANIZER

Spacelocker.com is a Social Organizer that compiles friends lists from various social networks like Facebook, Friendster, Bebo, Hi5, Photobucket, Youtube, Picasa, Flickr, Dizzler, Last.fm, Skype. Email accounts from Yahoo, AOL, and MSN can be added as well. A social organizer gives users easy instant accessto chat platforms from Yahoo, AOL, MSN, Gtalk, Myspace, and ICQ and lets them interact with friends in a multitude of ways.

DESIGN 1. Login Page The design of Spacelocker.com is based on the school locker. The home page provides a fun looking locker and three enlarged boxes: sign up, login, and tell a friend.

2. Sign Up Page When users first come to the website, they must initially sign up by going to the Sign Up page. There they can sign up using either a web based email or create their own email. This makes it easy to sign up to Spacelocker.com; thereby attracting more users.

3. Default Locker

Once users have a username and password they can login, and can then see the inside of their locker with preset default icons commonly kept in a school locker, which represent the various functions of Spacelocker.com.

4. Locker Themes

Users can use an editor to customize the look of their locker using the makeover function. Besides the default locker, users can choose from five themes: Earth, Solar, Grunge, Mechanical, and Posh. The icons for the functions in each of these themes are unique to that theme. Spacelocker.com will expand the number of themes as the website grows.
