2013 Global Connections Dinner SeriesThe Global Connections Dinner Series provides opportunities for intimate conversation in private settings. Members of the Council’s Board of Directors, Chairman’s Circle, Directors’ Circle, and President’s Circle host dinners in their homes or other private venues and personally select the topic and theme. Experts, artists, scholars, and visiting dignitaries are invited to lead the evenings’ discussions. Funds raised through the series support the Council’s ability to provide a public education forum for all Chicago-area residents interested in world affairs.

The 2013 Global Connections Dinners covered topics such as the global economy, immigration reform, and the crisis in Syria. Memorable speakers included Carly Fiorina, Walter Isaacson, and Martin Wolf, among many others.

The Chicago Council on Global Affairs, founded in 1922, is an independent, non-partisan organization committed to educating the public—and influencing the public discourse—on global issues of the day. The Council provides a forum in Chicago for world leaders, policymakers, and other experts to speak to its members and the public on these issues. Long known for its public opinion surveys of American views on foreign policy, The Chicago Council also brings together stakeholders to examine issues and offer policy insight into areas such as global agriculture, the global economy, global energy, global cities, global security, and global immigration.
