Real World Problem:

• Laura’s mom wants to let her invite some friends to tumbling lessons. She is allowed to invite up to five people. The cost for guests is $5.75. How much will it cost if up to five friends go to tumbling with Laura?

Why is it a Function??

• There are a lot of ways you can tell if a function…..

1. If your x values don’t repeat then it’s a function.

2. If it passes the vertical line test then it’s a function.

Continuous or Discrete?

• My problem is discrete because you cannot have a half of a person.
