Summary By following this guide you will enable and associate your State of Indiana / FSSA issued iPhone with the IOT mobile device manager. By doing this you will receive the full benefits of the mobile device manager solution. IOT has been working to further enhance and update the enterprise service. Below is a picture of the icon which will be showing itself on your iPhone or iPad. This application provides enhanced security to State of Indiana issued iPhones and iPad(s).

Device Activation

BEFORE you turn on your new phone, call 1-877-807-4646 using your old phone or landline. Activation procedures with Verizon require you to be near a land line. Often this is done at work (for example in Indiana Government Center) Have the receipt nearby as it may be referenced. To begin using your newly issues state mobile device for official FSSA State of Indiana email and work insure that you choose a time when the device is fully charged and near a good cellular signal. The State of Indiana public Wi-Fi network does not permit Apple iTunes store access. Currently some individuals are receiving iTouch enabled devices. A 5S allows you to use your fingerprint. An Apple iPhone 5C or 4S will not allow you to authenticate with a fingerprint. Be aware of this as you move through these instructions further in the document.

First Power On

1. Turn on newly activated Verizon iPhone. 2. Follow the prompts to activate your iPhone and be sure you choose cellular connection and skip the Apple

ID step.

3. Follow this IF you have a device with iTouch like a 5S or higher. If you choose to do it later, you can find it

in settings. Skip to 4 if you desire or don’t have a 5S or higher.

Apple ID creation To obtain the MDM application you must have an Apple ID. This Apple ID must be tied to the State of Indiana email address you have for FSSA.IN.GOV. The simplest way to obtain an Apple ID without providing a method of payment application at this time from the Apple store is to download a free app. This has been determined to be the easiest way to create an Apple ID without having to supply a default method of payment on your State of Indiana issued iPhone. Please contact FSSA account control [email protected] with any issues or if needing immediate support. If you do have an Apple ID with an Indiana email address (such as FSSA.IN.GOV) skip to the section of this document titled Install MDM Client. If you do not have an Apple ID with an Indiana email address (such as FSSA.IN.GOV) start with the section of this document titled Apple ID creation. Do not download the MDM client from the iTunes store. Since this is a new phone you do not have an Apple ID using your FSSA email address. Please follow these instructions. 1. Open the App Store, search for the IN.gov app, download and install, and follow the prompts as shown:

The PASSCODE is not your AD State of Indiana password. 1) Open the Safari web browser and navigate to mdmportal.iot.in.gov. When this address is typed into Safari,

it immediately reverts to “State of Indiana”. It’s OK. Please follow the prompts.

2) Remember your login information is in the format of your first name DOT last name @fssa.in.gov. Your password is your existing AD PC password you type when logging into your State of Indiana PC.
