Officials remind residents of street parking ban

Fort Drum law enforcement officials wish to remind the community that parking on the side of the street

throughout the post housing areas is prohibited from Nov. 1 to April 1 each year.

Sufficient space on streets is critical for snowplows, emergency vehicles and other traffic to pass through

housing areas, especially during periods of inclement weather. The regulation will be strictly enforced.

The North Country Spouses’ Club (NCSC) is now accepting

scholarship applications

The applications are due March 30, 2013.

The following people are eligible for scholarships: spouses

and children of active duty, reserve, or retired active duty

military (officer or enlisted) that will be enrolled in a full

or part-time accredited degree program during the up-

coming 2013-2014 academic year (fall & spring terms).

Applicants or their military sponsors must reside in the

Fort Drum area or associated communities.

Individuals who will be attending a service academy or

who accept any other full scholarship are not eligible to

apply for this scholarship.

Scholarships are based on scholastic merit and commu-

nity involvement. Race, color, sex, national origin, or fi-

nancial need will not influence the selection.

Applications are available through local schools, NCSC

Facebook page, and the NCSC website NorthCoun-

trySpousesClub.weebly.com.

Pharmacy sends reminder on ID policy for prescriptions

Guthrie Pharmacy has an identification policy in place for picking up prescriptions.

* Beneficiaries who pick up prescriptions or over-the-counter medications for themselves MUST have

their military ID card. A driver's license and other forms of identification are not accepted.

* If someone other than the patient is picking up the medication, the individual who is receiving the pre-

scriptions from the pharmacy MUST have either the patient's actual military ID card or a photocopy of

the military ID card. Driver's licenses, text messages of ID cards and telephone calls from the patient are

NOT accepted.

Note: If the military ID card of the patient has been lost or destroyed, that individual can receive paper-

work from the Medical Records department which will give the Pharmacy department authorization to

dispense medications without the actual ID card. This is the only exception to the ID card policy. For

more information, call Sgt. 1st Class Maria Waiters at 772-9513.
