Winter has arrived and Christmas is only weeks away, how exciting! To celebrate the festive season we will be having our annual Christmas Party for Golden Acres on Thursday, December 8 and our Christmas Party for Blue Sky Lodge on Thursday, December 15. We look forward to celebrating with your friends and family on this special occasion with a wonderful meal prepared by our kitchen and some festive entertainment. We have many wonderful activities, events and outings planned for December, such as our annual Christmas Light Tour on Monday, December 19 at 6:00. Christmas really is about the spirit of giving and instead of giving gifts we can offer our kindness and compassion to others and do what we can to make the world that much more happier and brighter! I think this is the true meaning of Christmas. We would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We will be going swimming at Stan Siwik Pool on Monday, December 5 at 9:30. Enjoy a morning of Christmas shopping at Walmart on Monday, December 12 at 9:30 Join us on Monday, December 19 at 6:00 to tour the beautiful Christmas lights throughout

the city

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation - December 8 at 2:00 - As the holidays approach, Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) wants to have a perfect family Christmas, so

he pesters his wife, Ellen (Beverly D'Angelo), and children, as he tries to make sure everything is in line, including the tree and house decorations. However, things go awry quickly. The Santa Clause - December 15 at 2:00 - Divorced dad Scott (Tim Allen) has custody of his son (Eric Lloyd) on Christmas Eve. After he accidentally kills a man in a Santa suit, they are magically transported to the North Pole, where an elf explains that Scott must take Santa's place before the next Christmas arrives. Scott thinks he's dreaming, but over the next several months he gains weight and grows an inexplicably white beard. Maybe that night at the North Pole wasn't a dream after all -- and maybe Scott has a lot of work to do. Scrooged - December 23 at 2:00 - In this modern take on Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," Frank Cross (Bill Murray) is a wildly successful television executive whose cold ambition and curmudgeonly nature has driven away the love of his life, Claire Phillips (Karen Allen). But after firing a staff member, Eliot Loudermilk (Bobcat Goldthwait), on Christmas Eve, Frank is visited by a series of ghosts who give him a chance to re-evaluate his actions and right the wrongs of his past.

Did you know that doing acts of kindness is also good for your health? Research reveals that doing good deeds, or kind acts, can make socially-anxious people feel better. The researchers found that doing nice things for people led to a significant increase in people’s positive moods. It also led to an increase in relationship satisfaction and a decrease in social avoidance in socially anxious individuals. “People who engage in kind acts become happier over time,” says Sonja Lyubomirsky, Ph.D., a professor of psychology at the University of California, Riverside. “When you are kind to others, You feel good as a person — more moral, optimistic, and positive.”

See the pretty snowflakes Falling from the sky;

On the walk and housetops Soft and thick they lie.

On the window-ledges On the branches bare;

Now how fast they gather, Filling all the air.

Look into the garden,

Where the grass was green; Covered by the snowflakes,

Not a blade is seen.

Now the bare black bushes All look soft and white.

Every twig is laden- What a pretty sight!
