Our school has embarked on decorating another fibreglass koala in 2020 for the Kreative Koala: Design A Bright Future Challenge. Students are working on United Nations Global Goal for sustainable development No. 13—Climate Action. A small group of Aboriginal students are working together with Mrs van de Wijgaart & Miss Perry to transform their learning and tell their story using mosaic tiles. This koala will feature in our future Aboriginal garden at R.T.P.S. Kreative Koalas uses art and

multimedia as a vehicle to inspire young people to investigate and reflect on global sustainability issues and act at a local level.

Kinder 2021 Orientation

Our Kinder 2021 Orientation Program has had two sessions already with two more to go on: Tuesday 24th 1:40pm– 2:45pm & Monday 30th November 12:20pm—2:45pm. We would like thank our Year 5 ‘buddies’ for helping during Kinder Orientation on Day 1 giving up their time and being super friendly and great role models. Our 2021 Kindergarten students enjoyed meeting their Year 5 ‘big’ buddies who gave them a tour around the school, joined in with some fun activities and read to their ‘little’ buddies. They will be helping in the weeks to come and will be a friendly familiar face when they start school in 2021! We are very proud of the way our students uphold school and community values and always remembering

"Big Looks After Little".

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The revised November dates for NAIDOC Week 2020 follow its postponement from the original July dates due to the impacts and uncertainty from the escalating Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

RTPS celebrated NAIDOC Week 2020 on 30th October at school where students experienced playing traditional NAIDOC games, painted artworks, wrote messages and listened to stories. We recognise and acknowledge NAIDOC week from 8-15 November under the theme Always Was, Always Will Be. Congratulations to our class winners of the NAIDOC colouring in competition: K-2: Yalannah W, Jaxon M, Tiana S, Chelsi M, Zahlia K, Alfie W, Cassidy P 3-6: Quinn W, Amalie G, Reagan A, Shatayah N, Kerry-Anne S Multicat: Blake H, Kaylem S & Ellijah M
