Members’ Matters
Julia Gooden told us that
“we should not wait for a near-death in the
family to remind us that we are the gift to each
other in our families”.
Thought for the Day
If we lived in Grahamstown, I may suggest a
winter solstice swim in their dam - as they do -
in order to collect warm goodies for those
who are cold.
However, being a kind type of person, and
taking our ‘collective wisdom’ into account,
I am not going to ask you to
swim in freezing water!
What I would like to ask, specially now with
Mandela Day coming up on the 18th July,
is for everyone to go through their cupboards,
and bring a few articles of warm clothing to
Rotary lunch over the next two weeks.
Hospice badly needs warm goodies to give to
the families of people in their care.
If possible I would like us to donate at least
67 articles of warmth to Hospice. Please help!
Jill v d Marwitz will be talking on Kingfisher FM
tomorrow, the 2nd July.
Jean Durant will go on Kingfisher FM next Thursday,
the 2nd July,
Rotary Attendance during May was 55.3%
Rotary attendance during June was 63.8%
Thank you so much to Bertie Kommel, Nancy Nhliziyo,
Hlubi Hewitt-Coleman, Thandi Ndzombane, S’bo Tsiu,
and Pamela Sipamla for their donations towards the ‘lucky
dip draws’ at the Induction function.
Josef Ritter will be in Germany from July till October, and
Andrew Binning and his family are in Europe for 3 weeks.
We will miss you!
CONGRATULATIONS to Phil Gutsche on the 75th year
of Coca Cola’s existence in the market!
Please remember to bring the N’ali Bali to lunch on
Thursdays. Sally Potgieter and her teachers make good use
of these inserts in the Herald most Thursday mornings.
Our brand new District Governor, Tom McGee, will be visiting our club on the 15th July.
Have you ever heard an
Afrikaans speaking Scotsman? Be there!
As this is a Wednesday, our lunch that week
will be on the 15th, NOT Thursday 16th.
