Welcome to pyjama day. A huge thank you to Cathy who, with
the charity team, have been the driving force behind the day.
All proceeds will go to the refugee centre.
Next week the second round of High School parent conferences
will be held after-school on Thursday 4th August. As the
conferences occur in the afternoon, there will be no impact on
the regular school day for any students.
On Thursday 6th August, there will be no school for students
due to a teacher only day. During this day staff will focus on
Waldorf pedagogy and our special character. Kindergarten will
be working with families of students as they begin to prepare
for their transition to school. In the lower school the emphasis
will be the Class 1-7 skills and progression in mathematics
through a Waldorf lens and in the High School teachers will be
working with the purposeful and considered use of technology
in the context of readings and discussions around the key
underlying principles of the developing child.
The following week we will host an Open Day on Thursday 13th
August with tours starting at 9:00am and 3:30pm. If you have
friends, family or colleagues with children who may be
interested in joining us, I would be grateful if you could share
the date.
Lastly on Friday 14th August we invite you to join us for the first
light lantern festival starting at 6:30pm.

Welcome I am looking out of the office
window watching a unicorn and
cheetah (both in gumboots) turning a
skipping rope for a class 12 student, all
of whom are laughing together.

Are you in need of a Michael
Park Fair T-shirt? Perhaps you
missed out last time, or your
child has already outgrown
theirs, or maybe you fancy one in
a different colour?
Well… great news! Fair T-shirts
are available to order again.

ROBOTICS TEAMS
The Michael Park Robotics group has a junior team for Class 6-7
and senior teams for Class 8 and up, competing in the Auckland
Region VEX Robotics competitions this year.
We meet every Wednesday 3.45 to 5pm in Class 7 and would
welcome any students interested in joining.
Parents would be welcome to come along to see what we are
doing and decide if it would be suitable for their child.

Parents Course
“OUR TWELVE SENSES”
We have had numerous requests to re-run this instructive
course, based on the insights of Rudolf Steiner, for all who have
a loving concern for the healthy development of the child -- of any age.
We are a community of professionals (teachers, occupational therapists, nurses, a playwright/actor and a psychiatrist) who all
work out of Rudolf Steiner's insights on human development.
Parents of pre-school children will especially benefit from the
professional, practical, guidance offered. We encourage you
to join these Zoom sessions, weekly from 7th September through to 23rd November. The cost is minimal so that
everyone may benefit.
