Unlike many schools, where students go as right due to the

the relationships, the deep knowledge of the pupils as

In his ground-breaking work entitled Visible Learning, John

ensure gains are maximised.

Learning for us is not limited to knowledge acquisition but also

Dear Michael Park Families,

Would you like an opportunity to support a Steiner

teacher? It is very exciting that Michael Park will be

hosting the 100 years of Steiner Education Conference

this April. Some teachers may be coming from a distance

to join together in your community. Often times

accommodation poses challenges for teachers, whether

financial or due to the distance from the event. To

alleviate this issue as well as to create connections within

our worldwide movement, a new website,

www.steinerbnb.com, has been created by a Steiner class

teacher.

This Airbnb style website is for anyone connected to the

wider Waldorf movement, whether parent, farmer,

eurythmist, Steiner enthusiast or anything in between.

Whether you are looking for conference housing or a

vacation away from it all, Steiner BnB offers numerous

options within the shared values of the Steiner

community. We currently have listings around the world

ranging from a remote stone cottage situated deep in the

heart of a game reserve in South Africa to a getaway on a

biodynamic farm in California.

In order to support the participants of the upcoming

conference on April 13- 15, you can list your home, spare

room, couch or even tent space on Steiner BnB. Should

you want to offer this space only for the conference, you

can easily use the calendar to block off all other dates.

You are also welcome to list your space on an ongoing

basis for anyone looking to visit your area. The choice is

yours.

Simply go to www.steinerbnb.com and register as a user.

The site will walk you through the steps necessary to list

the space you are offering. You will have the chance to

write freely about the space as well as your family or

yourself. Please use this opportunity to share how you

are connected to the Steiner movement.

Guests who are interested in booking your

accommodation will then make a request via the website,

which will be emailed to you. You will have 48 hours to

accept or decline the request. Guests will pay a 10%

booking fee online and they will pay you directly upon

arrival unless you arrange something else ahead of time.

Please reach out with any questions or suggestions as this

is a site dedicated to serving the community and we

wholeheartedly welcome your feedback.

Thank you in advance for considering hosting a visiting

teacher in your home.

Warmly,

Heather - SteinerBnB

MAORI ONLINE LESSONS

Kia ora koutou,

Due to my workload this year unfortunately I have decided

that I can't take on the community Te Reo lessons that I

wanted to. I am going to start a parent and staff kapa haka

team at the end of term 1 if anyone is interested.

If you are interested in learning Te Reo Māori there are two

options:

1. Te Wananga o Aotearoa Te Ara Reo which is a free course:

https://www.twoa.ac.nz/Nga-Akoranga-Our-Programmes/Te-

Reo-Maori-Maori-Language/Certificate-in-Te-Ara-Reo-Maori-

Level-2?fbclid=IwAR0hZXk1RObL1ktoFp-

rI5iiBIxF4latO6cmOURtNAZz06c7C5MhUVoEQlQ

2. Wheako is an online course run by someone I know. I have

been using it in my teaching. It is $50 a year to join up. Below

is the link if you want to look into this further, or come and

chat to me and I can show you some of the lessons under my

log in. https://wheako.thinkific.com/

Sorry to those that were keen to attend my night classes but I

will look at this again for 2020. We also might be able to get

Te Wananga o Aotearoa to come to the whare weekly in 2020

to teach Te Reo.
