They even have a band with OZ on guitar, Dakota on drums, Nue on keys, Sookie on chimes, and Gregory Peck (well, in the interest of full disclosure, Gregory is a chicken) on tambou-rine!
Gretchen WilsonFinger Lakes Casino & Racetrack | Aug. 7 Country music sensation, Gretchen Wilson’s 2004 debut album, Here for the Party, was certified quadruple platinum and established her as the top-selling debut artist of the year - for any genre! Record sales mixed with rave reviews; and Wilson went on to win a Grammy for Top Female Country Song of the Year (“Red-neck Woman”). Her 2005 follow-up, All Jacked Up debuted at #1 on both the Billboard Top 200 Album chart and the Country Album chart, and led to Top Female Vocalist awards for 2005 from the CMAs and the American Music Awards. Baronessw/Royal ThunderClub @ Water St. | Aug. 7 The sludge metal/stoner rock band, Baroness, formed in 2003 in Savannah, GA. They’ve built a loyal following with their ex-plosive live shows, putting them-selves at the forefront of heavy music. Releases include Red Album, Blue Record, and Yellow & Green, all on Relapse Records; hit singles include “A Horse Called Golgotha,” “Take My Bones Away,” and “March to the Sea.” ... Atlanta GA’s rockers, Royal Thunder, join the bill in support of their new Relapse Records album, CVI. The band features Mlny Parsonz (bass/vocals), Josh Weaver (gui-tar) and Evan Diprima (drums). NPR.org describes the act as “revved-up Southern hard-rockers that howls like Led Zeppelin astride a psychedelic unicorn.”
John Hiatt & the Combow/Matthew Perryman JonesRiverside Festival Site | Aug. 8 John Hiatt’s debut album, Bring the Family, was released in 1987, the same year he was named “Best Male Vocalist” in Rolling Stone’s Critics Poll. Hiatt has since followed that up with a bevy of respected releases includ-ing Slow Turning, Stolen Moments, Perfectly Good Guitar, Walk On, Little Head, The Tiki Bar is Open, Beneath This Gruff Exterior, Mas-ter of Disaster, Same Old Man, The Open Road and Dirty Jeans And Mudslide Hymns. Hiatt is a mem-ber of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and the winner of a “Lifetime Achievement in Song-writing” award from the American Music Association...Matthew Perryman Jones works out of
Nashville. The singer/songwriter has released five albums, the latest being Land of the Living. Hit songs include “Save You” and “Anymore of This.” Rochester’s own folk rock/Americana act, Watkins & the Rapiers completes the Party In The Park bill.
CC3Abilene Bar & Lounge | Aug. 8 With drummer Chris Cawthray at the helm, CC3 comes to town to play at Abilene’s. The group also features Brooklyn-based Rob Price on guitar. Formed in 2004, CC3 explores improvised music in the jazz, rock, avant-garde and roots genre, ; performing and touring constantly.

Formed in 2005, the act is signed to Victory Records and has released three albums to date, the latest being Son of Perdition which features the single, “Dilated Disappointment.”...The five-piece progressive technical death metal outfit out of Florida, Abiotic, has recently signed to Metal Blade Records. Their seven-song EP is titled “A Universal Plague.”...Out of Colorado comes the death metal act, Allegaeon. The Metal Blade artists have two full-length albums to their credit, Fragments of Form and Function and Form-shifter...Recently signed to Metal Blade Records, Pennsylvania’s death metal act, Rivers of Nihil, formed in 2009 and is comprised of Jake Dieffenbach on vocals along with Brody Uttley, Jon Kunz, Adam Biggs and Ron Nelson.
Keith Urbanw/Little Big Town & Dustin LynchCMAC | Aug. 9 One of country music’s biggest stars right from the beginning, Keith Urban is a country leg-end. The multiple award winner counts CMA, ARIA, A ACMA, Grammy Awards and Golden Globes among his credits. Hit songs include “Somebody Like You,” “Who Wouldn’t Wanna Be Me,” “Days Go By,” “Better Life,” “Start a Band,” “Sweet Thing,” “Only You Can Love Me This Way, “Without You,” “Long Hot Sum-mer” and “You Gonna Fly” among others. His latest release is The Story So Far with a new one, Fuse due out next month featuring the single, “Little Bit of Everything.” ... Bonzai FestMain St. Armory Festival Site | Aug. 17 The featured artists at this year’s Bonzai Fest include the alternative metal band, 10 Years, which hails from Tennessee. After six studio albums to date - the most recent being Minus the Machine - the act has achieved success with such singles as “Wasteland,” “Beauti-ful,” “Shoot It Out,” “Backlash” and “Dancing With The Dead.”...Tony Beliveau (piano/vox), Mike Beliveau (bass), and Jason Morris (drums) - together known as the Crash Kings - found success with the single, “Mountain Man.” For-merly performing out of Boston, the act now resides in Los Angeles CA. Their latest release is Dark of the Daylight...The alternative rock act, Diamond Youth, is from Bal-timore. Their EP, “Orange,” was released this year on Topshelf Re-cords, a follow-up to “Don’t Lose Your Cool.”... The Dropkick Mur-phys were formed in 1996 in the basement of a Boston barbershop, with the goal of blending the mu-sical influences they had grown up with - punk rock, Irish folk, rock and hardcore - into one loud, raucous, chaotic sound. The Grammy-nominated artist has since released some two dozen al-bums as a leader/co-leader includ-ing the more recent Between Two Worlds and Plain ‘N’ Simple...Jeff Lorber, a Grammy-nominated keyboardist/composer, began playing piano at age four. He also studied at Boston’s Berklee College and is now home-based in Portland Oregon. Galaxy is his latest, a follow-up to Now is the Time... Saxophonist Everette Harp has enjoyed much suc-cess in his career with record-ings on Blue Note and Capital Records, and appearances with Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, Kenny Loggins, Marcus Miller and David Sanborn. His 2006 album, In the Moment, debuted in the number one spot on Billboard’s Contem-porary Jazz Chart; and has since been followed by My Inspiration and First Love.

PGA Championship Exhibition Adds Jack Nicklaus Plaque
The traveling PGA Champion-ship History Exhibit which has been housed at the Rochester Mu-seum & Science Center, 657 East Avenue, since May is commemo-rating the Championship’s return to New York with the addition of a one-of-a-kind plaque owned by five-time PGA Champion, Jack Nicklaus. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Nicklaus’ first PGA Championship victory at Dallas Athletic Club in 1963, the item has been added to the extensive exhibit of PGA Championship memorabilia from every single PGA Champion.
