Spring Sports Information | Required Paperwork

Prior to a student-athlete trying-out/participating in a sport,

he/she must have an approved registration on Register My Athlete

(www.registermyathlete.com).

For Spring sports, the deadline to register is Wednesday, February 24, 2021.

The failure to register will result in a student-athlete’s inability to participate.

If your student-athlete has participated in a Fall or Winter sport, he/she will have to

have an updated KSHSAA COVID-19 Questionnaire uploaded to Register My Athlete.

I’m looking for a good college to get a degree in Criminology.

I’m still searching if I want to study here or in Mexico, but I

know I will love anywhere I decide.


The bowling banquet, that last dinner was amazing and we all

were celebrating the season, the road trips and competitions

were amazing too. Also the Winter Formal, it was my first

dance here in the United States and I won’t forget it!

Free State Fine Arts Department Congratulations!

The Fine Arts Department is proud of our Free State musicians who have been

selected to perform with the KMEA All-State Honor Ensemble on February 27th

and 28th, 2021!

We are also honored to have seven students who will receive a 3-Year Medallion

for being participants for three consecutive years. This is a high honor earned

through rigorous auditions.

Free State Debate Team Congratulations!Free State juniors Serena Rupp and John Marshall finished in the Quarterfinals (Top 8)

of the Crestian Invitational hosted by Glenbrook North HS (IL) last weekend. On their

way to doing so, they defeated the #11 ranked team in the country from Northside HS

(IL); and, the pair were named the 3rd and 4th overall speakers at the competition (out of

90). In doing so, they earned their 5th bid to the Tournament of Champions - this sets a

new record for the most TOC bids earned by a team of non-seniors in Kansas history!

Free State seniors Jacob Wilkus and Simon Ruland earned a spot in the semifinals (Top

4) of the Colleyville (TX) tournament. By doing so, they earned their 1st bid to the TOC

and became the second Free State team this year, and in school history, to do so.

Free State Forensics Team Congratulations!The Free State Forensics team is also off to a tremendous start to their season!

In just three weekends of competition, the team has finished 2nd in Team

Sweepstakes twice, has earned 12 individual event Tournament Championships, and

has qualified 10 events for the State Championship Tournament in May. Individual

event champions have included seniors Tim Huffman, Emily Bial, and Anton

Santangelo, juniors Ezra Joseph and Molly Roecker, and sophomores Emma Hefty

and Cici Hunter. Huffman has also qualified two events for the prestigious National

Individual Events Tournament of Champions!

to ensure 9th graders have a smooth transition into high school. The Free State

LINK Crew Leaders are exceptional students who work year-round to provide
