Iowa 4-H Healthy Living Club Challenge!
“Healthy Living is one of 4-H’s program priority areas. This
year, a new challenge has been organized to engage 4-H
clubs across the state to incorporate Healthy Living practic-
es during their monthly club meetings. Each meeting, clubs
have 4 challenge topic areas that they can complete to earn
miles in the Race Across Iowa.
Offering water as the main beverage
Having fruits or vegetables as a snack option
Organizing structured physical activity
Integrating a mindful moment technique
From January 1 through the month of June, clubs will have 6
months to Race Across Iowa on our 1,400 mile route
through all 20 regions. Each of the challenge areas earns
them an amount of “miles”. Periodically, a Bonus Challenge
will be revealed for clubs to engage in to earn extra miles.
Check out the webpage for more details and resources to
help accomplish the varying challenge areas. Last year
Franklin County club Tri-L was one of the Top clubs in the
state accumulating the most miles, and was recognized at
the Iowa State Fair in August!”
