Frank Sinatra's power as a performer was legendary

There was no one like Sinatra. There were plenty of singers with great voices, to be sure. Sinatra reportedly told Tony Bennett that he had the best voice of them all! And there were also better dancers and actors. Sammy Davis comes to mind.

But no one had the aura and performance power of Frank Sinatra. What was his secret?

Frank was a movie star, a singing sensation, a larger-than-life persona. His career spanned six decades. He planned the Inaugural Balls of two presidents. He didn't write a single song, but he made every song he sang his own, either with his infectious fun and playfulness, or by sharing his own deeply personal vulnerability.

After a show here in Israel, a woman told me of how she had been diagnosed with a dangerous disease and given six months to live. The radio in her hospital room was on, and before she knew it, Frank Sinatra's voice boomed out with his anthem, My Way. Somehow, this song ignited a passion to survive in her, and she beat the disease. "That was 20 years ago, and here I am," she told me, "thanks to that song."

This was the power of Sinatra. He made everyone who listened feel that he was sharing his story, his joy, his love, just with them. Here was the real man. Frank Sinatra was a great philanthropist, a great friend of Israel and the Jewish people, and a great artist. He used his emotional power and tremendous musical talent to lift people up and inspire them as no one else could.

The upcoming Frankly Sinatra event is full of Sinatra's greatest music, performed to the fullest by a Broadway tenor and a live band. Yisrael Lutnick will sing Sinatra favorites, including Fly Me to the Moon, Strangers in the Night, New York New York, My Way and many more exciting songs. You will hear the story of Sinatra's life and career, including his deep love of Israel and the Jewish people. Treat yourself to an evening of Sinatra!
