We seem to think that one day "we will be happy when we get a new car or a big house or get married . . . " and the list goes on and on. Happiness is a fleeting state of mind, just like the state of sadness or joy or anger. It is unrealistic and it would not be appropriate for us to be in a happy state 24 hours a day.
