The survey was extended to Brazilians between12 and 15 years of age; in other words, thosewho were born in the Internet Age.

Whenever applicable, we have highlighted theWhat’s new evolution compared to the previous edition, which included only people over 16.

For the first time we studied the relationshipBrazilians have with electronic games.

Th e error margin is plus or minus 2 percentage points – in the case of internet users and game players it’s 3percentage points – and in all cases the confi dence level is 95%.

Th e sample was defi ned based on 2000 censusinformation and on 2009* estimates. Th e processcovered the following stages:

_Stratifi cation by state and by city size;_Random selection of the cities;_Random selection of the place for conducting the survey.

For reading the sample total, the data was weightedaccording to the weights of the Brazilian regions, so as to berepresentative of the universe being studied.
