2. Identify the equivalent between improper fractions and mixed numbers.
3. Convert improper fractions to mixed numbers and vice versa

1. The student understands the concept of fraction, numerator, denominators, proper fraction and
improper fraction
2. The student knows to perform addition of fractions.
3. The student knows to perform multiplication and division.

Step 1(30 minutes)
Pupils identify theequivalent of improperfractions and mixednumbers.
1. Teacher show a diagrams of 4 set of
pizzas that already cut into a several
equal parts.
2. Teacher will ask students to counthow part in 1 pizza.
3. Teacher picks a part of pizza one by
one and pupils will count on it.
4. Pupils will stop count a part of pizza
when teacher stop pick a pack of
pizza.
5. Pupils will say the number of a part
of pizza that teacher pick.
6. Teacher asks pupils add all parts of
pizza that picked by teacher.
7. Teacher regroups all the parts of
pizza become a whole of pizza and
asks the number of whole pizza and
remaining parts.
8. Teacher asks pupils the equivalent
of improper fractions and mixed
numbers.
9. Group pupils in 4 groups and give
them set of question and 4 sets of
pizza.
10. Let them to try answer the equivalentimproper fractions and mixed
numbers.
11. Teacher helps pupils have a problem
to identify the equivalent of improper
fractions and mixed numbers.
