Calling All Curators! Flipboard Magazine

Many people, like 150 million, are using Flipboard to read, collect, and curate the news or their

favorite stories into a digital magazine on their iPad, Android, or web browser. In your web

browser you can flip pages, expand ar.cles, bookmark ar.cles, and share ar.cles to your favorite

social networks. If you would like to find publically created magazines visit the Flipboard

community page or you may want to follow the Flipboard magazine created and curated by

coolca1eacher, Vicki Davis (Another person to add to your PLN).

Ideas for educa.on use:

• It could be a great ac.vity for students studying current events to collabora.vely share their findings. Students

could share the ar.cles and put them into one magazine for the whole class to read.

• Maybe it is a way for students to curate all the digital ar.cles they are collec.ng for a research project.

• As a professional development ac.vity collabora.vely crea.ng Flipboard magazines could be a great way for

teachers to share ar.cles with each other. Those shared ar.cles as could be the star.ng point for discussion during

the next department mee.ng, PLC, or staff mee.ng.
