SEND YOUR ANGEL TO HOLY MASS

O Holy Angel at my side Go to the church for me, Kneel in my place at Holy Mass Where I desire to be. At Offertory, in my stead, Take all I am and own, And place it as a sacrifice Upon the altar throne. At Holy Consecration’s bell, Adore with seraph’s love My Jesus hidden in the Host, Come down from Heav’n above. Then pray for those I dearly love, And those who cause me grief, That Jesus’ Blood may cleanse all hearts And suffering souls relieve. And when the priest Communion takes, Oh, bring my Lord to me, That His sweet Heart may rest on mine, And I His temple be. Pray that this Sacrifice Divine May mankind’s sins efface; Then bring me Jesus’ blessing home - The pledge of every grace. In the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

Louisiana Saturday Nights – you may remember that song and while I am not advocating everything in it, you may recognize some of its good activities happen-ing since CoVid19, such as sitting on front porches, fam-ily actives, children playing outside, etc. Since so many places are closed, families are spending time together and they are coming back home to each other instead of staying out late. I also heard that cookies and snack sales are sky-rocketing because of afternoon and evening family activities while breath mints and gum sales are down since people are no longer meeting publicly but by video (LOL). The other day while visit-ing with my sister on her front porch in rocking chairs (6 foot distance), she shared with me that she now sees more smiles on people’s faces and it seems that some stress has been simplified. As we prepare for life to begin returning to normal, let us not lose the good sim-ple values and activities that have been fostered in this time. Perhaps a faster pace is inevitable, but let us remember that we enjoyed and valued the slower pace – we don’t have to fill our lives with so much. Prayer time, family visiting, board games, etc. – I ask that par-ents and children talk to each other now, about a sim-pler and more valuable lifestyle. Please have a serious conversation about what you shouldn’t lose and how you will safeguard the slower pace with valuable and spiritual activities that you have gained. Sit down and make an explicit plan, otherwise, we will just return right back to EVERYTHING.

God’s blessings and protection upon each of you! Fr. Sonnier
