Foundation of Asian Civilization
((Cultural Evolution))
As human race multiplied and as excavations discovered and pieced
together the story of man, questions on the differences of man in different parts of the earth were brought up. The theories behind
the differences and changes on man’s appearance and ways are being
questioned. The assumption that all living things were separately created remained
unchanged until it was challenged by scientists.
Can you imagine how far the genius of man has gone? How did man use his capacities for advancement?
Early people used their intelligence to developtechnology. The invention of tools, use of fire, and the development of language are important achievements in human history. These were achieved during the Stone Age.
Period of Stone Age
Paleolithic AgeThe earlier and longer part of the Stone Age is characterized by man’s use of stones as a chopping tool. This dated back to the Old Stone Age or Paleolithic Age, which was about 2 million years ago.
Neolithic AgeDuring the
Neolithic Age, man learned to
polishhis tools to a fine edge and sharp points.
Man discovered the importance of
settling down in villages.
Man settled in permanent
homes. Early humansventured
farming during this period,
which became a source of food.
Mesolithic Age
During the Mesolithic Period, there were changes in climatic conditions. This forced man and even animals to adopt themselves to a new environment and conditions. Man had to develop lighter tools to aid them in hunting. Hunting and gathering of plants continued to be the main sources of food.
