FOSTER MEMORIAL CHURCH, UCC
THE CHRONICLE Volume 65, Issue 10 November 2016
Dear friends, This month, our thoughts turn to Thanksgiving and Blessings. This is a prayer by Samuel Pugh that reminds us of our call from God in response to our abundance of blessings.
O God, when I have food, help me to remember the hungry; When I have work, help me to remember the jobless; When I have a home, help me to remember those who have no home at all; When I am without pain, help me to remember those who suffer, And remembering, help me to destroy my complacency; bestir my compassion, and be concerned enough to help; By word and deed, those who cry out for what we take for granted. Amen.
Blessings, Barbara

PANCAKE BRUNCH FOR TENZIN: November 6
Please plan on joining the Christian Educa-tion Board, our God Time children, stu-dents and guides in our annual Pancake Brunch for Tenzin on Sunday, November 6th in Fellowship Hall immediately follow-ing our morning worship. The menu will consist of pancakes, sausage, fruit cup and assorted beverages. A free will offering will be used to support our mission supporting Tenzin, a thirteen year old Tibetan refugee boy living in a school in India.
FALL CLEAN UP: November 5 Autumn is here again and it’s time for the annual Foster Memorial Fall Cleanup. The date will be Saturday, November 5th at 9:00 am (rain date Nov. 12th). The Trustees are asking for volunteers with rakes, shovels, etc. to help with leaf removal and general grounds cleanup. This is the more difficult of the cleanup days so if you can possibly lend a hand – even for just a little while- all help is greatly appreciated! These days are really important for the upkeep of the grounds, so let’s have a great turnout… more people = easier work!

THANK YOU FROM CHARLIE ROSOSKY Dear Foster Family and Friends,
My thoughts have been with all of you during my illness and treatments while at Life Care of Wilbraham. I missed my home, my wife, my sons, and my daily rou-tine of life. I also missed attending FMC and singing in the choir.
I thank each and everyone of you who sent cards, so many, many cards, visits, telephone calls and continue check-ups to see how Judy was doing.
The prayers for me (us) were greatly appreciated. I can hardly imagine the num-ber of people everywhere who thought of me. Your gift of prayer was what I needed along with God's healing grace.
Thank you so much.
Blessings, Charlie Rososky
PERSONAL NOTE FROM PASTOR BARBARA My father, Ed Schenk, died on October 20. Thank you for all your prayers and support and beautiful flowers. Our family will miss him very much; at the same time, we celebrate that his heavenly life has already begun.
GOD TIME THEME The theme of “Telling Stories” continues through November 20th. Our young people will explore how, when we align ourselves with God’s will, we feel like we
are a part of God’s ongoing story. The logo depicts a circle of people sitting on a large book. One of the people is telling a story. While the book does not have a title, we can assume it represents the Bible — God’s story of unconditional love. Please take a moment to view the logo posted on the sanctuary doors.

COATS FOR KIDS Our Rebecca Johnson Partnership team, along with the CE Board is collecting new and “gently” used winter coats for those students in need of them during the cold winter months. Diane Mulhern and Bev Weinhold are coordinating this collection with boxes located in the narthex and back hallway. So please look through your closets for those coats or jackets that your children or grandchildren may have out grown and give a new life and owner. Sizes can range from 4 to 18. Thank you for your help.
BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION Thank you for your continued help in collecting Box Tops and Labels for Education. These help provide supplies for the school. Collection boxes can be found in the narthex and in Fellowship Hall.
