A native o Newark, N.J., the 5-11, 185 lb. guard joined the Runnin Rams ater a successul rsseason with the URI ootball team. He was Rhodys top receiver this past season, pulling in a team-high 48 catchesor 500 yards and three touchdowns. He transerred to Rhode Island ater two years at Dean College, where he waalso a two-sport student-athlete. Last year, in 16 games, Baskerville averaged 12.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 7.9 assistand 2.8 steals.

    Since returning to the Rhode Island lineup on Dec. 29, Orion Outerbridge has emerged as one o the top scoring reservein the Atlantic 10 conerence. The 6-9 or ward is averaging 8.7 points and 19.1 minutes o the bench. Outerbridge ishooting 58.9% rom the oor in eight games.

    Akeem Richmond led three Rams in double gures as Rhode Island earned a 101-75 victory over Fordham on Saturdaaternoon. With the win, URI earned its third consecutive 20-win season. Ater Fordham tallied the rst two pointo the game at the FT line, Rhody rattled o 19 unanswered points over a span o 4:48, taking a 17-point lead with14:39 let in the hal. Rhodys oense would continue to roll, as the team connected rom the inside and rom beyondthe arc. A Ben Eaves jumper with 1:39 to go in the hal gave the Rams their biggest lead - 34 points - at 57-23. Theywould lead, 58-28, at the break, scoring 28 points in the paint while connecting on 3-o-8 rom the outside. In thesecond half, Fordham would outscore Rhode Island, 47-43, but the Kingston Rams would continue their hot hand from

    the oor. Richmond scored 12 o his 20 points in the second rame, leading a balanced box score or the home teamEvery player who saw at least seven minutes o play reached the scoring column. Lamonte Ulmer added 18 points andeight rebounds, while Will Martell also had 18 points to go along with ve boards. Keith Cothran had a solid all-around

    game, with 13 points, six rebounds, seven assists, two blocks, and our steals. For the game, URI shot 54.1% (40-74rom the oor, including a 7-o-20 shooting night rom the outside. Rhode Island outrebounded Fordham, 39-32, anddished out 27 assists to its 40 eld goals.

    Delroy James scored 17 o his team-high 20 points in the second hal as Rhode Island dropped an83-75 decision at #5/4 Pittsburgh in the opening game of the 2010 2K Classic Beneting Coaches

    vs. Cancer. Rhody built as much as an eight-point lead in the rst hal on the Panthers, thanksto the hot outside shooting o Akeem Richmond and Nikola Malesevic. The sophomore duocombined to connect on 6-o-11 rom beyond the arc. URI led 36-28 ater a Will Martell jumper

    with 1:31 let in the rst hal. But Pittsburgh would score nine unanswered points to close outthe hal, take a 37-36 lead at the break. In the second hal, the Panthers connected on 6-o-8 tostart the second hal, but could not put away the Runnin Rams. James connected on his second3-pointer o the hal at the 12:02 mark, tying the ballgame at 53-53. James led all scorers with 23 points, connecting on 9-o-15rom the eld. Both teams traded baskets through the start o the game, beore Browns AndrewMcCarthy would make it a two-point contest - at 14-12 - with 14:35 to go in the rst hal. Rhodresponded to the Bears run as Richmond scored six straight points to give the R ams a 20-12 leadwith 13:32 to go in the rst hal. Nikola Malesevic, Marquis Jones and Daniel West would then

    Delroy James and Will Martell each registered a double-double as Rhode Island earned a 75-66victory over College of Charleston in the rst game of the Toledo subregional of the 2K Sports

    Classic Beneting Coaches vs. Cancer. Nikola Malesevic added 17 points o the bench. The twoteams were matched evenly on the oensive end to start the game. Tied at 9-9 at the 14:03mark, the Runnin Rams would score eight unanswered, thanks to 3-pointers rom Ben Eaves and

    Malesevic and a driving layup rom Marquis Jones. Rhody would lead 19-11 with 10:51 to playin the hal. The Cougars (2-2) would respond with an 11-2 push over the next 3:08, capped bya Jeremy Simmons jumper which made it 22-21 with 7:43 let. Rhody would lead 29-25 at thebreak. In the second hal, Rhody would not trail thanks to the play o James and Malesevic. Theduo shouldered the scoring load, combining or 31 o Rhodys 46 points.     Delroy James logged the second 30-point game o his career as he nished with a game andseason-high 33 points to lead Rhode Island to a 74-68 victory over Drexel. Marquis Jones adde11 points and a team-high six rebounds and Will Martell added 10 points. Rhody struggleoensively in the early going as it did not score a basket until the 17:37 mark o the rst hal. ThRams got on track thanks to the hot shooting o James and Martell as they combined to score 1o URIs rst 21 points. During the rst 20 minutes no team lead by more than ve points. Rhody

    trailed 31-27 with 4:24 remaining until the break, but the Rams responded with a 9-2 run to closout the rst hal and take a 36-33 lead into the locker room. No team lead by more than threpoints in the rst ve minutes o the second hal. Drexel cut URIs lead to one on our separateoccasions, but could never take the lead. With just under 15 minutes to go in the game, Rhodybegan to make its move as it went on an 11-2 push to take a 53-43 lead with under 10 minuteto go in the game. James led the way as he scored nine o the Rams 11 points during the stretchRhody went on to take its largest lead at the 6:41 mark as sophomore Akeem Richmond drilleda 3-pointer to give the Rams a 62-49 lead. Drexel cut URIs lead to ve with just under a minuteto play, but the Dragons would get no closer as Rhody went on to secure its third win all-timeover Drexel.
