TORONTO ― Ontario is providing $3.8 million to a com-

pany that's using nanotechnology to build a better pesti-

cide for farmers.

Government officials say the money will help Toronto–

based Vive Nano build a plant that's expected to create 19

new jobs over two years.

The company uses an environmentally friendly process to

create nano–technology–based products and materials.

Its first target involves reformulating pesticides so that the

active ingredient is more effective, allowing farmers to use

less of the chemicals.

Provincial officials say the company is also looking at new products that could have an impact on fuel cell develop-

ment, water treatment, and environmental clean–ups.

√ FACT : Of all the sources of funding to the Environ-mental Terror Movement, the grants originating from theGovernment of Ontario are the most unethical and themost unfair to the Green Space Industry. Enviro– Terrorists became MILLIONAIRES !

√ FACT : Many groups in the Environmental Terror Movement are directly financed with MILLIONS of tax dol-

lars, through agencies such as THE TRILLIUM FOUNDA- TION. In other words, tax–paying employees and compa-nies in the Green Space Industry are unknowingly contrib-uting to their eventual annihilation.

√ McGUINTY ERROR : The Government of Ontario has failed to diminish theso–called risk to public health with the proposed alternatives to conventionalpest control products. SOME ALTERNATIVES ARE EVEN HIGHER–RISK. TheGovernment of Ontario is only now providing funding for the so–called low–risk Green Alternatives, and, in an untimely fashion, only after the NEEDLESS,SENSELESS, and MALICIOUS prohibition of FEDERALLY LEGAL, SCIENTIFI-

CALLY SAFE, and TOTALLY IRREPLACEABLE pest control products. Another error that can lead to LEGAL CHALLENGES.

√ McGUINTY ERROR : The Government of Ontario has irresponsibly made noprovisions for job losses and small business failures that are occurring as a di-rect result of the prohibition.

√ FACT : The Government of Ontario has actually allocated over TEN MIL-LION DOLLARS over four years in support of its prohibition, but has an-nounced no plans as to how this money can be used to aid those in the Profes-sional Lawn Care Industry that become unemployed or bankrupt as a result of

the prohibition. In November 2009, the Government of Ontario has provided3.8 MILLION DOLLARS to a company that claims that it can concoct nano– technology to build a better pesticide for farmers.

√ McGUINTY ERROR : Finally, we can all agree that the Government of On-tario has unfairly discriminated against the Professional Lawn Care Industry by providing exceptions to the following groups. ―



Ontario exceptions :

1. Agriculture.

2. Cricket.

3. Croquet.

4. Extermination.

5. Forestry.

6. Golf courses.

7. Lawn bowling.

8. Lawn tennis.

9. Sod growers.

William H. Gathercole is a principal FOUNDER of the Modern Professional Lawn

Care Industry in BOTH Ontario and Quebec. He holds a degree in Horticulture from

the UNIVERSITY OF GUELPH, and another pure and applied science degree

from MCGILL UNIVERSITY. He has worked in virtually all aspects of the

GREEN SPACE INDUSTRY, including GOLF and PROFESSIONAL LAWN

CARE, and has served in public affairs, workplace safety, and environmental com-

pliance. Mr. Gathercole has supervised–consulted–programmed–overseen the exe-cution of HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of pest control applications in the urban

landscape. He has trained, instructed, and consulted with, THOUSANDS of turf

managers and technicians. Mr. Gathercole has also been an agricultural agronomist.

For many years, Mr. Gathercole was a contributing columnist for TURF & Recrea-

tion Magazine, Canada’s Turf and Grounds Maintenance Authority.

Mr. Gathercole has followed the evolution of ENVIRONMENTAL TERRORISM

for over a quarter–century. His involvement in environmental issues reached a fe-

vered pitch in the 1990s, when he orchestrated, with others, legal action against un-

ethical and excessive municipal regulations restricting the use of pest control products.

( i.e. the Town of Hudson, Quebec. ) For FIFTEEN YEARS, the strategies designed

and implemented by Mr. Gathercole and his colleagues guaranteed the control of

Enviro–Terror for the Entire Green Space Industry across Canada. Although he can

be accused of being ANTI–ENVIRONMENT–MOVEMENT, he is, in fact, sim-

ply a strong advocate FOR the GREEN SPACE INDUSTRY, from an INDE-

PENDENT PERSPECTIVE. However, this position has not precluded him from

criticizing the Green Space Industry itself. Nonetheless, his vast knowledge of our
