Hope Is The Th g With Feathers

Hope is the thing with feathersTh t perches in the soul,And sings the tune—without the words,And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard; And sore must be the stormTh t could abash the little birdTh t kept so many warm.

I’ve heard it in the chilliest land,And on the strangest sea;Yet, never, in extremity,It asked a crumb of me.

Attitude

“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what others think or say or do.

It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.

We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable.

The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes.” Charles Swindoll

You may be wondering how a pair of red sneakers became part of my logo. I was looking for something distinctive

to wear when I give my Special Needs Workshops. I eventually turned to my brother, Scott, for input, and he

helped by choosing a pair of bright red Nikes.

The sneakers became so popular that I began wearing them with my business attire and they became an instant hit. That led me to have new business cards designed with red sneakers

as the logo. People apparently love them — and the story behind them — because they keep asking me for more.

It works for me. I enjoy wearing the red sneakers. They remind me of Scott, who has Down syndrome, and the

reason I do what I do. And although I take what I do very seriously, it’s hard to take myself too seriously when I look

down at my bright red Nike’s.

Warmest regards,

Craig Marcott
