Minister Derrik Allen was born in Chapel Hill, NC. At an early age his family relocated to the Washington, D.C. area. He attended school in the District of Columbia and, soon after graduation from high school, enlisted in the United States Air Force. He retired from the Air

Force in 2006 and later accepted a position in the Federal Government. He is currently the Chief Complaints Management and Adjudication for the National Guard Bureau. In February 2006, soon after retiring from the United States Air Force, he was ordained as a deacon at the Resurrection Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., where he had been a member since childhood. While serving as deacon, he taught bible study, Sunday School, led the Men’s Ministry, and the Men’s Choir. In 2019, following the Lord’s direction, Minister Allen and his family moved their church membership and united with the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. After becoming a member, he enrolled in the Men’s Discipleship class and later in the Ministers-in-Training Class. He presented his Initial Sermon and was licensed to preach the Gospel on September 17, 2021. Minister Allen is married to Sherry, and they have two
