MINISTRY &OUTREACH
AS WE STUDY THE BOOK OF ACTS WE ARE MINDFUL OF HOW THE EARLY CHURCH WAS DEVOTED TO PRAYER.
We believe that God wants to do great things in and through us in the future and we want to seek His face in prayer for His guidance, bless-ing and protection. So, we are setting aside 30 days this summer for a special emphasis on prayer for our church ministries and outreach.
The 30 days will conclude with a Day of Prayer at Golden Hills Community Church from 6:00am to 8:00pm on August 14.
ACTS 1:14 They all joined together constantly in prayer…
ACTS 2:42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer
ACTS 3:1 One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer..
ACTS 4:24 When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God.
ACTS 4:31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken.
ACTS 6:4 “We will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.”
ACTS 7:59 While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”
ACTS 12:5 So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.
ACTS 13:3 While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.
HERE ARE SOME GUIDELINES FOR
OUR 30 DAYS: Pray daily for the prayer emphasis on that day, as
described in the booklet. We believe there is great power when we all pray together on a given day for a specific
ministry or event.
If you so choose, select a time or times during the 30 days of prayer to fast. Remember, you can fast from
something other than food (TV, internet, hobby, etc.). A guide on biblical fasting will be available.
If possible, commit to attend the Day of Prayer, and the Concert of prayer at 7pm on August 14 at Golden Hills.
PRAY. FAST. ATTEND.
