Wingers are often good at crossing the ball. English Vocabulary: 1. Example: Action:  head When you head the ball, you strike it with the front of your head (your forehead). Centre- backs and strikers are usually good at heading the ball. English Vocabulary: 2. Example: Action:  mark When you mark  a player from the other team,  you stay clos e to him. If y ou mark  the player well, it’s difficult for him to receive the ball. English Vocabulary: 3. Example: Action:  pass  When you pass  , you send t he ball to ano ther  player in you r team. If you don’t  pass the ball quickly, you may lose it! English Vocabulary: 4. Example: Action:  dribble When you dribble  , you run with the ball close to your feet. It’s very difficult to take the ball away from a good dribbler ! English Vocabulary: 5. Example: Action:  tackle When you tackle a player, you try to take the ball away from him. Defenders have to be good at tackling. English Vocabulary: 10. Example: Action:  save When a goalkeeper saves a shot or header, he  stops the b all going into the goal. Action:   cross

When you cross the ball, you send it from thewing towards the strikers in the middle.Wingers are often good at crossing the ball.
