Page 11: Focus on qualitySpeed of delivery Investment in infrastructure Customer service and support Over $50M in capital investment since 2006 Vertical

AX Project JustificationRealized gains…Improved coordination between sites and departments by providing real-time access to the same information

AX will support IDT’s growth for the next ten years, and currently supports a number of multi-billion dollar organizations

Opens up non-IT departments to using off-the-shelf functionality within ERP that might historically have require custom software

Greater ability to institute financial best practices using policies and procedures developed by the other 14,000 users of Dynamics AX in addition to adding IDT transaction edit controls

Increased functionality across the board, particularly in our manufacturing and chemical synthesis area

Better integration with our existing Microsoft product suite, including Excel/Word, SharePoint, MS-CRM, Outlook, etc.

Improved ease of use with interfaces designed around the same concepts as our existing Microsoft software (Outlook, etc.)

Stronger reporting tools than our current system, with more options available for both end-user and advanced reporting

Page 12: Focus on qualitySpeed of delivery Investment in infrastructure Customer service and support Over $50M in capital investment since 2006 Vertical

Work in Progress (yet unrealized)• Epicor Enterprise 7.3.5, our present ERP package is end-of-life application; Dynamics AX is a system being actively improved (Microsoft is investing something like $1.5b in research into this toolset)• Opens up ERP functionality to software development with modern API’s• Allows us to better focus our custom efforts on core IDT projects to drive growth• Lowers the cost of ownership by reducing our long-term dependence on outside consultants• Greatly improved capabilities to support our international operations:

• Taxation management• Intercompany transaction• Language support (Japanese, Dutch, German, etc.)

AX Project Justification

Page 13: Focus on qualitySpeed of delivery Investment in infrastructure Customer service and support Over $50M in capital investment since 2006 Vertical

• 37% increase in purchase orders in 2012 with AX over previous system• 25% increase in new products/line items in 2012 with AX over previous system• 6% increase in production orders in 2012 with AX over previous system•Major reference in helping secure additional Microsoft AX deals • Large volume of orders per day—30,000–40,000• Combinations of Microsoft products: AX, CRM, .NET, SharePoint, + others

Translation: Productivity Gains in AX

Page 14: Focus on qualitySpeed of delivery Investment in infrastructure Customer service and support Over $50M in capital investment since 2006 Vertical

• Finalize rollout in Singapore• Rollout in Europe• Improved handling of

taxation/VAT worldwide• Order to cash—massive

customization/integration project

• 2012 R2 rollout• Several other integration

projects—SOX, CRM, etc.

Plenty of Work To Do…

• Creation of Products is centralized and allows customers to determine which companies they want to release the products to• Product Configurator technology is used to determine how product variants are used• Dimension groups have been split into separate functions (physical handling- storage and tracking dimension groups vs. Product dimensions which define the product variants)

Products

Page 18: Focus on qualitySpeed of delivery Investment in infrastructure Customer service and support Over $50M in capital investment since 2006 Vertical

• Allow creation of various category hierarchies like Procurement, Sales, and Retail

• Allows items to be classified based on various categories• Can create purchase orders and requisitions based on procurement

categories without an item number• Specify Vendor evaluation criteria based on procurement categories• Specify Approved and Preferred vendors for procurement categories

2. Category Hierarchies

• Blanket order types from previous released have been replaced by Purchase and sales agreements

• Microsoft Dynamics AX supports both value-based and quantity-based sales agreements

• You can apply the terms and conditions of a sales agreement, such as the prices and discounts, when you create an order by using the Sales order details form

• You can control whether you want to search for sales agreements when sales order lines are created indirectly, such as by intercompany orders

4. Purchase and Sales Agreements

Page 22: Focus on qualitySpeed of delivery Investment in infrastructure Customer service and support Over $50M in capital investment since 2006 Vertical

• You can define a validity period for a sales agreement. The requested ship date of a sale must be within the validity period

• You can put sales agreements on hold to control whether they are available to the sales agent during ordering

• Purchase agreements can also be taken into account during planning

4. Purchase and Sales Agreements

• Order lines can be converted to a delivery schedule with a number of delivery lines attached to it

• An order can line can then be shipped in multiple deliveries; for example 100 pieces per months for six months

• Total order discounts can be applied to delivery schedules even if they are split up

• Delivery schedule can be performed both on purchase and sales orders

• AX2012 allows packing slip correction on both sales and purchase order modules

• Packing slips can also be canceled in both modules• A new, dedicated process is introduced for purchase receipt

corrections, which allows you to correct or to partially or fully reverse a specific, posted product receipt. When you correct or reverse a product receipt, the product receipt does not introduce a new product receipt number, but rather, introduces a new version of the product receipt

• Intercompany relations and policies are set up in a new form that contains the same content as the form used in previous versions. The new setup form can be accessed from a button on the customer and vendor pages

• The setup in this form is shared for the vendor and the customer in the trading relationship, and only has to be defined once. In previous versions, the setup was not shared and had to take place in both the vendor company account and in the customer company account. There are no functional changes because of this change

much easier way that in previous versions• Various Workflow controls like Conditional Decisions, Manual, Parallel

activities, sub-workflows available• Approval limits and signing limits defined at job levels• Ability to escalate Workflows
