Ingleby Greenhow C of E Primary School

We all had a marvellous day celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The day began with Margaret Connelly (from Bradley School of Dance) teaching the children some dances from the 50s and 60s – it was great fun. There followed a “Big Lunch” in the school hall. Mrs Ward had prepared a wonderful buffet for all the children whilst families and friends arrived with their own picnics. There was a real party atmosphere in the hall.

The afternoon commenced with games for all on the playground followed by a fancy hat parade. All the children had made a hat at school the previous week and there were some wonderful creations! Next came the burying of the time capsule in the school grounds! Thank you to our old friend Mary Boardman who unveiled the plaque. We all wondered when it would be dug up and by whom! The afternoon came to a close with the children leading the singing of pop songs through the decade. There were rousing Beatles and Queen songs! It was lovely to have celebrated the Diamond Jubilee with some many of our families and members of our local communities.

We look forward to welcoming you to many events in the future. In particular to join us at St Andrew’s Church at 9.30am on Thursday 19th July for our Leavers Service
